Working collaboratively with school leaders, staff, students, and families, you will lead a holistic, social-emotional, and spiritual approach that links student wellbeing directly to learning success.</p> <p>From managing complex student matters to leading key college transition events and professional learning, you will empower student agency and cultivate a thriving, supportive school culture grounded in Gospel values.</p> <p><strong>Why Join O'Loughlin Catholic College?</strong></p> <ul> <li>One of Australia's most attractive salary packages: <strong>$ 122,162.00 - $ 136,997.00 + Super&nbsp;</strong>(Pro-Rata) + <strong>POR 4 $ 20,101.27</strong></li> <li>Discounted school fees for children attending Catholic schools</li> <li>6 weeks annual leave plus 6 weeks stand down in line with the EBA</li> <li>Access to FLARE Benefits with discounts at hundreds of retailers</li> <li>A warm, supportive and collaborative team culture</li> <li>Leadership and professional growth opportunities</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Strategic Pastoral Leadership:</strong> Lead the development, execution, and evaluation of the College’s Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Framework and chair the Student Wellbeing and Support Team (SWAM)</li> <li><strong>Culture &amp; Student Support:</strong> Support Heads of House and Personal Development Leaders; manage complex pastoral or behavioural matters with expert judgment, escalating to Executive Leadership when appropriate.</li> <li><strong>Transition &amp; Community Engagement:</strong> Lead major College events including Year 6 Open Day; Year 7 Orientation, Senior School Information Sessions, Year 12 Graduation, and Mental Health Week.</li> <li><strong>Academic &amp; Pathway Tracking:</strong> Conduct regular tracking meeting with Heads of House, SACE/NTCET, VET/Careers, and Inclusion Support leaders to ensure smooth student transitions into senior pathways.</li> <li><strong>Student Leadership &amp; Agency:</strong> Partner with the Leader of Mission, Student Voice and Agency, and Student Representative Council (SRC) to build leadership capacity and organise key events/assemblies.</li> <li><strong>Enrolment &amp; Professional Learning:</strong> Conduct prospective student enrolment interviews, review pastoral policies, represent the College at CENT network meetings, and deliver staff professional development on student wellbeing.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Four-year trained teacher qualifications with active (or eligibility for) <strong>Teacher Registration Board (TRB) NT</strong> accreditation.</li> <li>Proven leadership experience in student pastoral care, wellbeing, and behavioural management within a secondary school context.</li> <li>Current <strong>NT Ochre Card (Working with Children Check)</strong> from SAFE NT.</li> <li>Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills to partner with staff, families, and external support agencies.</li> <li>Active commitment o maintaining Work, Health &amp; Safety standards, Duty of Care, and confidentiality.</li> <li>Australian citizen or resident.</li> <li>Driver’s License</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desired Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Master’s level qualification (or a commitment to enrol in further postgraduate study)</li> <li>Accreditation to teach in a Catholic School (or willingness to work towards it)</li> <li>Mental Health First Aid certification.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Safeguarding Children &amp; Vulnerable Adults</strong></p> <p>Catholic Education Northern Territory (CENT) requires all its employees to abide by its policies on safeguarding and promoting the safety and wellbeing of all children, young people and vulnerable adults.
