one that is innovative, progressive and grounded in trust, compassion and respect.</p><p><strong>Key Objectives of this Role</strong></p><p>To carry out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures under the direction of the Head of Primary and the Principal.  A class teacher is an informed, reflective professional who uses an array of strategies to create positive learning environments, which motivate and challenge all students to become self-regulated, lifelong learners and leaders.</p><p><strong>Key Relationships</strong></p><p>Reports to the Head of Secondary School.</p><p>In addition, maintain and develop effective working relationships with students, parents and guardians, school leadership team, Primary school specialist teachers, with Secondary school and Administration staff.<br /><strong>Child-Safe School</strong></p><p>Treetops adheres to the highest standards of contemporary child safe practices.  We adhere to, and fully support, the objectives of the WA Commissioner for Children and Young People.</p><p><strong>Specific Duties of this Role</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure the successful implementation of a differentiated curriculum in multi-age group classes.</li><li>Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Treetops by regularly attending staff meetings.</li><li>Work collaboratively with other teaching staff.</li><li>Ensure that assessments and student records are kept up to date.</li><li>Ensure that curriculum requirements are being met and that outcomes are clearly documented.</li><li>Use the Western Australian Curriculum in planning.</li><li>Maintain ongoing records of student progress.</li><li>Document all parent/teacher interviews.</li><li>Regularly report to parents, in accordance with school guidelines.</li><li>Attend Professional Development sessions.</li><li>Work with School Leadership to support the school’s guiding statements/philosophy.</li><li>Work with a small team of Primary teachers to ensure a vibrant, positive culture of learning.</li><li>Effectively communicate relevant aspects of programs with members of the Treetops community.</li><li>Comply with contemporary WHS work practices.</li><li>Willingness to engage in whole-school events - e.g. camps, sport, concerts, excursions and special programs.</li></ul><p><strong>Core Competencies</strong></p><ul><li>Apply innovative teaching strategies to engage, challenge and inspire students.</li><li>Motivate and engage with colleagues.</li><li>Establish and maintain good relationships with colleagues, students and parents.</li><li>Communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing.
