<p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p>
<p>As Head of Department – History & RE you will provide strategic and pedagogical leadership to a team of dedicated educators, driving excellence in teaching, learning and student outcomes.</p>
<p>You will lead the development of engaging and contemporary History and RE programs, mentor and inspire staff, and champion innovative approaches that cultivate intellectual curiosity, ethical understanding and a global perspective.</p>

<li>Lead a high-performing department and shape the educational experience of students across Years 7–12.</li>
<li>Inspire students to connect the lessons of history with contemporary issues and future possibilities.</li>
<li>Foster meaningful exploration of faith, ethics, social justice and diverse worldviews through Religious Education.</li>
<li>Influence curriculum innovation and educational practice within a leading independent girls’ school.</li>
<li>Mentor and develop teachers, building capability and fostering a collaborative professional culture.</li>

<p><strong>About You</strong></p>
<p>You are an experienced and highly effective educator who is passionate about girls’ education and committed to developing confident, compassionate and critically minded young women.</p>
<p>You will bring:</p>
<ul>
<li>Proven experience teaching History and/or Religious Education.</li>
<li>Demonstrated leadership experience or readiness to step into a significant leadership role.</li>
<li>A strong understanding of effective pedagogy and curriculum development.</li>
<li>The ability to inspire, mentor and develop others.</li>
<li>A commitment to academic excellence, student wellbeing and continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills with students, staff and parents.</li>
<li>An innovative mindset and enthusiasm for exploring new approaches to teaching and learning.</li>
<li>An ability to, or an interest in teaching the IB Diploma Programme, is essential.</li>
<li>Experience teaching the IB Diploma and/or HSC Marking</li>
