Al Zahra College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Female PDHPE Teacher to join our Secondary School team commencing 20 July 2026. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering effective, engaging, and evidence-based teaching and learning programs within the PDHPE and Sports Science Key Learning Areas. The role involves fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry skills while supporting student wellbeing, academic achievement, and the values of the College.

<p><strong>Teaching and Learning&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Teach PDHPE subject to Years 7 to 10.</li> <li>Teach Sports Science to Years 11 and 12.</li> <li>Deliver lessons in line with the IB and NESA curriculum.&nbsp;</li> <li>Plan, assess, and report on student progress in accordance with College guidelines.&nbsp;</li> <li>Conduct practical investigations safely and effectively.&nbsp;</li> <li>Differentiate learning to meet individual student needs.&nbsp;</li> <li>Integrate digital technologies to enhance learning.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Curriculum and Assessment&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and evaluate teaching programs aligned with NESA outcomes and IB criteria.</li> <li>Develop learning materials that reflect current best practice in PDHPE, health literacy, and movement science.</li> <li>Create and implement formative and summative assessments for both theory and practical outcomes.</li> <li>Maintain accurate records of practical participation, skill progression, physical activity levels, and health learning.</li> <li>Coordinate or contribute to fitness testing and physical activity assessments.</li> <li>Support the College’s Sport and Co-Curricular Programs including weekly sport, carnivals, gala days, representative teams, and fitness programs.</li> <li>Coach school teams and lead training sessions to prepare students for competitions.</li> <li>Promote student participation in physical activity, wellbeing programs, and representative pathways.</li> <li>Assist in organising major College sport events (swimming, athletics, cross country).</li> <li>Contribute to whole-school health and wellbeing initiatives (e.g., anti-bullying programs, nutrition education, wellness campaigns).</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Co-Curricular, Sport &amp; Community Participation</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Professional Engagement&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Engage in professional development and College-based training.&nbsp;</li> <li>Collaborate with PDHPE department staff and across faculties.&nbsp;</li> <li>Maintain teaching accreditation and meet NESA/IB standards.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Pastoral/Co-curricular&nbsp;&amp; Islamic ethos</strong></p> <ul> <li>Contribute to the wellbeing and support of all students.&nbsp;</li> <li>Participate in College co-curricular and community events.&nbsp;</li> <li>Promote student participation in activities and competitions.&nbsp;</li> <li>Contribute to Islamic events and planning</li> <li>Abide by the schools Islamic ethos including dress code and respect</li> <li>Attend school Islamic events that are implemented in the school calendar&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Selection Criteria&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Essential&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>NESA-accredited teacher with teaching experience.&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong understanding of IB/NESA curriculum and pedagogy.&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrated classroom management and communication skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>Commitment to Islamic values and the College’s mission.&nbsp;</li> <li>Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Desirable&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience teaching in IB World Schools.&nbsp;</li> <li>Familiarity with inquiry-based and STEM learning.&nbsp;</li> <li>Postgraduate qualifications in education or PDHPE.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Closing date:&nbsp;7 July 2026</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>&nbsp;Enquiries:&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;Visit&nbsp;www.azc.nsw.edu.au&nbsp;or email&nbsp;<a href="mailto:info@azc.nsw.edu.au?subject=Secondary%20Female%20PHE%20teacher%207-12%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29">info@azc.nsw.edu.au</a>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><a href="https://employmenthero.com/jobs/position/al-zahra-college-limited-female-pdhpe-teacher-9n76j/" rel="nofollow"><strong>Apply Here</strong></a></p>
