The Position of Responsibility (POR) as a Head of Learning Area is a pivotal role for driving curriculum and innovation within a subject area for the College and is responsible for developing a high performing team within their discipline.
<p>We are excited at Luther College to be able to offer a range of Leadership opportunities for 2027 as a Head of Learning Area.</p>
<p>The Position of Responsibility (POR) as a Head of Learning Area is a pivotal role for driving curriculum and innovation within a subject area for the College and is responsible for developing a high performing team within their discipline.</p>
<p>The Head of a Learning Area provides professional leadership and management of the key learning area from 7-12 and is responsible for oversight of the curriculum, administration, management and professional development of teachers within their area. The Head of Learning Area supports high quality teaching and learning consistent with the ACARA and VCAA curriculum frameworks and the College’s Strategic Plan through a focus on continual improvement. Heads of Learning areas will work collaboratively with each other as well as Coordinators and members of the College Executive to enhance school improvement in all areas of teaching and learning.</p>
<p>Luther College Currently has a range of Heads of Learning Areas, available for commencement at the beginning of 2027. The Learning Areas include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Head of Mathematics </li>
<li>Head Science</li>
<li>Head of Humanities and Social Sciences</li>
<li>Head of the Arts</li>
<li>Head of Technologies </li>
<li>Head of Health and Physical Education</li>
<li>Head of Languages</li>
<li>Head of Sport, and</li>
<li>Deputy Head of the Arts, Music</li>
</ul>
<p>Heads of Learning Area PORs are for a period of three years; however the role does carry a substantive ongoing teaching role. </p>
