<p><strong>The Role</strong></p>
<p>We are seeking a passionate Secondary School educator to teach <strong>Business </strong>and <strong>Entrepreneurship </strong>subjects, with the the ability to teach Economics and Legal Studies desirable. The successful educator will create engaging learning experiences, foster meaningful relationships, and contribute actively to our Secondary School culture.<br><br>
As <strong>Head of Enterprise Studies</strong>, encompassing Business, Economics, Legal Studies and our Entrepreneurship programs, you will have responsibility for curriculum and pedagogical leadership across these subjects for Years 7 - 12. This is a rare opportunity to lead a future‑focused, well‑supported portfolio within a collaborative and ambitious faculty. A significant part of this role is oversight of our Entrepreneurship pathways, including <i>Innov8 </i>(Year 8) and <i>Imagine</i> (Year 9) - whole‑cohort, core programs designed to develop students as confident changemakers.<br><br>
Launched in 2024 and 2025 respectively, Innov8 and Imagine build on the College’s long‑running Innovate and Create Co-Curricular program and extend entrepreneurial thinking into innovation with empathy. Students progress from deep problem understanding to solution design, working with real‑world partners such as aged‑care, local businesses and environmental organisations, and showcasing their learning through Pitch and Trade Fair events. With strong support from College leadership and a dedicated team that embraces contemporary teaching and learning, this role will suit an innovative, strategic leader who can further develop bold ideas in our programs.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p><strong>Permanent Teacher Role:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Teach Business (inc. Senior years) and other Enterprise subjects (e.g. Innov8 and Imagine)</li>
<li>Create engaging learning experiences that cater to diverse student needs, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.</li>
<li>Assess and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback.</li>
<li>Engage with students, staff, and parents to foster strong relationships.</li>
<li>Integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning.</li>
<li>Participate in co-curricular programs and College events as required.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Head of Enterprise Studies (PAR):</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead the strategic direction of Enterprise Studies, ensuring teaching and learning aligns with College vision, pedagogical frameworks, and curriculum priorities.</li>
<li>Drive high-quality curriculum planning, including Band Plans, Unit Plans, and Assessment Plans, ensuring compliance with QCAA and Australian Curriculum requirements.</li>
<li>Champion innovative, future‑focused teaching practices, including effective ICT integration and interdisciplinary learning opportunities.</li>
<li>Foster a collaborative, high-performing departmental culture through coaching, mentoring, and regular strengths-based feedback to teaching staff.</li>
<li>Contribute actively to the Learning Leadership Team, influencing whole‑school pedagogical direction and cross-departmental collaboration.</li>
<li>Oversee assessment design, moderation, and quality assurance processes, ensuring rigorous standards and timely submissions.</li>
<li>Manage departmental resources and budgets strategically, ensuring effective use of digital and physical learning tools.</li>
<li>Support staff wellbeing, professional growth, and any induction of early-career and pre-service teachers.</li>
<li>Represent the department in curriculum networks and collaborate with College leadership on strategic initiatives and continuous improvement.</li>
</ul>

<li>Demonstrated excellence in teaching Business and Enterprise Studies, with a strong record of high‑impact, future‑focused pedagogy in the Secondary years.</li>
<li>Proven capability in leading curriculum and assessment processes, including QCAA-aligned planning, moderation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, coach, and develop teaching teams while fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented departmental culture.</li>
<li>Highly effective in building positive relationships with learners, promoting engagement, wellbeing, and inclusive learning environments.</li>
<li>Strong classroom management, communication, and organisational skills, modelling exemplary instructional practice for staff.</li>
<li>Demonstrated capacity to drive innovation, including integration of ICT, interdisciplinary learning, and contemporary pedagogical approaches.</li>
<li>Experience managing departmental operations, including budgets, resource allocation, digital platforms, and contributions to whole‑school strategic initiatives.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Eligibility Requirements</strong></p>
<p>Applicants must be eligible to apply for Queensland College of Teachers registration or hold current registration status.</p>
