The Geelong College is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Rowing to lead our Middle and Senior School Rowing Program. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape a high-performance rowing culture, foster student development on and off the water, and inspire both rowers and coaches to achieve their full potential.</p>
<p>The Director of Rowing will oversee all aspects of the program, including coaching development, training and programming, strength and conditioning, regatta preparation, boatshed operations, and parental engagement. This position plays a pivotal role in delivering a rowing program where students can maximise their opportunities, develop life skills, and be coached to improve their craft, all while being supported by a strong team of staff, coaches, and parent volunteers.</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Relevant educational qualification and experience in a similar leadership role</li>
<li>Hold a current Victorian Institute of Teachers (VIT) registration or eligibility to obtain registration or hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) (Employee Status), or ability to obtain </li>
<li>School aged coaching and/or club rowing experience</li>
<li>Minimum Level 2 Australian Rowing Coach Accreditation</li>
<li>Strong leadership skills with effective interpersonal and communication abilities</li>
<li>Initiative, passion for teaching and learning, and a collaborative approach with colleagues, students, and parents</li>
<li>Commitment to supporting students’ holistic growth – physical, emotional, academic, cultural, and spiritual</li>
<li>Demonstrated work ethic, striving for continuous improvement and high standards</li>
<li>Current First Aid (HLTAID011), CPR (HTLAID 009), and Asthma Management Certificate</li>
<li>Completion of either The College’s anaphylaxis training, or Accredited course: 22578VIC – Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis</li>
<li>Previous experience in a school environment (desirable)</li>
