CEDB is seeking an experienced WHS Officer to join the team in Bathurst on a permanent, full-time basis.

<p><strong>About the Role </strong></p>
<p>Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst (CEDB) is seeking an experienced Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Officer to join the team, based out of the Head Office in Bathurst. Reporting to the Head of HR, Risk & WHS, this role delivers hands-on WHS support to ensure full compliance with legislation and alignment with best-practice standards across our 33 schools. CEDB is looking for an Officer who can effectively champion safety and drive a culture of continuous improvement. </p>
<p>Key responsibilities: </p>
<ul>
<li>Oversee reactive and annual maintenance work orders</li>
<li>Maintain contractor compliance (insurances, licences, SWMS, WWCC, etc.)</li>
<li>Work closely with schools and parishes to ensure timely service delivery</li>
<li>Develop improvement plans for building and facilities maintenance</li>
<li>Monitor WH&S requirements across contractors, schools, and parishes</li>
<li>Track incidents and accidents and report findings</li>
<li>Create and manage WH&S and risk management tools, systems, and databases</li>
<li>Conduct WH&S audits and investigations</li>
<li>Assist with workers’ compensation and return-to-work matters</li>
<li>Deliver WH&S training across schools and parishes</li>
<li>Travel within the Diocese as required</li>

<ul>
<li>Tertiary qualifications in WHS or a related field (minimum Cert IV or relevant experience)</li>
<li>Ability to influence and negotiate effectively</li>
<li>Ability to identify organisational risks and recommend WHS improvements</li>
<li>Self-motivated, resourceful, and diligent with a proactive mindset</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities</li>
<li>Valid and current driver’s licence </li>
</ul>
