<p>Catholic Education NT operates 18 Catholic schools across the Northern Territory — from Early Learning to Secondary — including five colleges, seven primary schools, one flexible learning centre, and five remote schools. <p><strong>The position:</strong></p>
<p>The <strong>Acting Deputy Director Teaching and Learning</strong> works collaboratively as a member of the Executive Leadership Team for Catholic Education, contributing to the shared vision and goals of the Strategic Plan <i>Towards 2026</i>. The Executive Team provides strategic, educational, pastoral, and system leadership across Catholic Education NT — supporting, nurturing, challenging, and giving life to the Catholic story. The Executive advocates on behalf of Catholic Education and drives excellence in learning, teaching, and system performance.</p>
<p>This is a full-time, fixed-term position, commencing 19 January 2026 and concluding 26 June 2026.</p>
<p><strong>Key responsibilities: </strong></p>
<p>As Acting Deputy Director Teaching and Learning, you will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Lead and manage change in educational policy and practice across CENT, aligned with Diocesan Catholic Education Council, National Catholic Education Commission, and NT and Australian Government priorities.</li>
<li>Provide strategic and practical support to school leaders, either directly or through School Improvement Partners (SCiP) and senior Teaching and Learning leaders.</li>
<li>Coordinate internal and external school review and improvement processes, represent CENT on local and national bodies, and build strong partnerships with governments, agencies, and educational organisations.</li>
<li>Promote and lead contemporary, culturally responsive curriculum and pedagogy across early childhood, primary, and secondary schools.</li>
<li>Mentor and coach senior leaders across Teaching and Learning, Inclusion Support (particularly for students experiencing educational disadvantage or learning needs), the RTO Manager, and the Early Years Leader.</li>
<li>Ensure effective communication of policy, processes, procedures, and accountabilities to schools in the area of Teaching and Learning.</li>

<li>Is <strong>Catholic</strong> and can demonstrate <strong>active participation in a Catholic Eucharistic community</strong>.</li>
<li>Brings strategic vision, collaborative leadership, and a deep commitment to the mission of Catholic education.</li>
<li>Is an experienced educator with a proven record of leading system-wide excellence and driving improvement in student learning, engagement, and wellbeing.</li>
<li>Is an approachable, confident team leader with strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the assertiveness required to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams.</li>
<li>Has demonstrated expertise in curriculum, pedagogy, and educational policy, with a commitment to delivering rich, culturally responsive learning experiences across diverse school communities.</li>
<li>Holds a <strong>Master’s degree</strong>, is <strong>eligible for NT Teacher Registration</strong>, and can obtain an <strong>NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)</strong>.</li>
