Chief People Officer

DOSCEL is seeking a Chief People Officer who will lead the People and Culture strategy across DOSCEL's Secretariat and school network. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will oversee talent, capability, workforce planning, employee relations, and wellbeing - ensuring systems, policies and culture support performance, growth and care.

<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>Reporting to the Executive Director and as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the <strong>Chief People Officer</strong> will lead the development and delivery of a contemporary People & Culture strategy that aligns with DOSCEL’s mission and strategic priorities.</p>
<p>This role has oversight of all people functions across the organisation, including:</p>
<ul>
<li>Workforce strategy and planning</li>
<li>Leadership development and succession</li>
<li>HR policy and operations</li>
<li>Employee and industrial relations</li>
<li>Talent acquisition, capability, and wellbeing</li>
<li>Culture, engagement, and change readiness</li>
</ul>
<p>As Chief People Officer, you’ll champion a people-first culture, strengthen organisational capability, and ensure the systems, frameworks, and strategies are in place to attract, support, and retain a high-performing, values-aligned workforce across all schools and the DOSCEL Secretariat.</p>
<p><strong>About You</strong></p>
<p>You are a seasoned senior HR executive with a passion for purpose-led leadership. You bring a depth of experience in workforce strategy, cultural transformation, and organisational development, ideally within education, not-for-profit, or public sector settings.</p>
<p>You will also demonstrate:</p>
<ul>
<li>Commitment to the ethos, values and mission of Catholic education</li>
<li>Exceptional stakeholder engagement and leadership skills</li>
<li>Experience navigating complex industrial environments</li>
<li>Proven ability to deliver strategic and operational impact</li>
<li>Outstanding judgement, emotional intelligence and discretion</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Key Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Executive-level experience in Human Resources or People & Culture leadership roles</li>
<li>Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, Psychology, or a related discipline</li>
<li>Strong understanding of employment law, industrial relations and workplace compliance</li>
<li>Experience leading and developing diverse, multidisciplinary teams</li>
<li>Alignment with and ability to promote the mission and vision of Catholic education</li>
