Casual/temporary position

“Central Coast Grammar School (CCGS) is committed to the safety, protection, and wellbeing of all our students and children involved in activities at CCGS. We are searching to appoint an experienced Director for the Year 6 Musical on a casual/temporary basis from 29 April 2025 through to 21 October 2025. In conjunction with the Head of Drama K-12 and Music Coordinator K-6, this position will lead the artistic vision and direction for the Junior School Performing Art – Year 6 Production.

This role will encompass responsibility to attend and participate in Tuesday afternoon rehearsals from 3pm to 6pm, throughout Terms 2 and 3 and then for full day rehearsals on 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21 October 2025.

To be successful you will need to possess and demonstrate:

• Qualifications and experience working as a Drama Teacher or Drama Tutor
• Background in school musical theatre
• Strong understanding of acting, stagecraft and performance techniques
• Experience with leading artistic vision and direction
• Direct rehearsals, focusing on performance skills, character work, and ensemble scene
• Support students’ confidence, creativity and stage presence/manage student behaviour & wellbeing
• A high standard of competency, proficiency and innovation as a teacher or tutor
• The capacity to cater for different learning needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good administrative skills, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability
• A commitment to the strategic direction and ethos of the school
