We are searching to appoint an experienced Director for the Year 6 Musical on a casual/temporary basis from 29 April 2025 through to 21 October 2025. In conjunction with the Head of Drama K-12 and Music Coordinator K-6, this position will lead the artistic vision and direction for the Junior School Performing Art – Year 6 Production.

We are searching to appoint an experienced Director for the Year 6 Musical on a casual/temporary basis from 29 April 2025 through to 21 October 2025. In conjunction with the Head of Drama K-12 and Music Coordinator K-6, this position will lead the artistic vision and direction for the Junior School Performing Art – Year 6 Production.

This role will encompass responsibility to attend and participate in Tuesday afternoon rehearsals from 3pm to 6pm, throughout Terms 2 and 3 and then for full day rehearsals on 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21 October 2025.

To be successful you will need to possess and demonstrate:

  • Qualifications and experience working as a Drama Teacher or Drama Tutor
  • Background in school musical theatre
  • Strong understanding of acting, stagecraft and performance techniques
  • Experience with leading artistic vision and direction
  • Direct rehearsals, focusing on performance skills, character work, and ensemble scene
  • Support students’ confidence, creativity and stage presence/manage student behaviour & wellbeing
  • A high standard of competency, proficiency and innovation as a teacher or tutor
  • The capacity to cater for different learning needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good administrative skills, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability
  • A commitment to the strategic direction and ethos of the school
