We are seeking a dynamic and visionary ELC Director to lead our faith-based early learning centre, where children aged 3-5 are nurtured, valued and empowered to thrive.

The role of ELC Director is a tenured (3 year) Position of Responsibility, underpinned by a permanent teaching position at King’s. The incumbent is entitled to make an application for extension to this tenure should they wish to do so.
The role is for commencement in June 2025.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the Head of School, Adelaide Hills the role will ensure excellence in all aspects of the centre's operations, teaching and learning, staff management and compliance. The role leads a team of dedicated educators fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and high-quality early childhood education. The role also plays an important part in shaping an environment where children are engaged, families feel supported and staff are empowered to deliver exceptional learning experiences.
- Leadership & Vision – Inspire and mentor a team of educators, fostering a strong, faith-based, child-centred learning culture.
- Operations & Compliance – Oversee all aspects of the centre’s operations, ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and regulatory standards.
- Teaching & Learning – Drive excellence in curriculum implementation, influenced by Reggio Emilia principles and aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
- Pastoral Care & Community Engagement – Build strong relationships with families, the school community, and local networks to enhance the ELC’s impact.
- Staff & Performance Management – Lead recruitment, training, and professional development to cultivate a high-performing team.
- Health, Safety & Wellbeing – Ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for children, staff, and families.
Essential Criteria
- A personal commitment to the King's Vision, Mission and Values underpinning the delivery of a Christian based education to students is essential to this role.
- Bachelor or Degree in Early Childhood Teaching (as approved by ACECQA).
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework and Standards, The Early Years Learning Framework, and a commitment to their implementation.
- Outstanding knowledge and skills in developing curriculum in line with the EYLF and NQF, incorporating the principles of the Reggio Emilia approach.
- Working knowledge of all statutory requirements, licensing, and legislation relating to the provision of children’s services.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to supervise team members to achieve organisational outcomes within time and cost limitations.
- Ability to provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring support to teachers and educators within the Early Learning Centre.
- Deep understanding of children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment.
- Sound understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and its application to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
- Current HLTAID004 First Aid Training, mandatory notification certification, and a current Working with Children Check.
