We are seeking a dynamic and visionary ELC Director to lead our faith-based early learning centre, where children aged 3-5 are nurtured, valued and empowered to thrive.

Our purpose-built facilities support child-centred, inquiry-driven learning in a warm, engaging, and faith-filled community.</p> <p><i>The role of ELC Director is a tenured (3 year) Position of Responsibility, underpinned by a permanent teaching position at King’s. &nbsp;The incumbent is entitled to make an application for extension to this tenure should they wish to do so.</i></p> <p>The role is for commencement in June 2025.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <p>Working closely with the Head of School, Adelaide Hills the role will ensure excellence in all aspects of the centre's operations, teaching and learning, staff management and compliance. &nbsp;The role leads a team of dedicated educators fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and high-quality early childhood education. &nbsp; The role also plays an important part in shaping an environment where children are engaged, families feel supported and staff are empowered to deliver exceptional learning experiences. &nbsp;</p> <ul> <li><strong>Leadership &amp; Vision</strong> – Inspire and mentor a team of educators, fostering a strong, faith-based, child-centred learning culture.</li> <li><strong>Operations &amp; Compliance</strong> – Oversee all aspects of the centre’s operations, ensuring compliance with the <i>National Quality Framework (NQF)</i> and regulatory standards.</li> <li><strong>Teaching &amp; Learning</strong> – Drive excellence in curriculum implementation, influenced by Reggio Emilia principles and aligned with the <i>Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).</i></li> <li><strong>Pastoral Care &amp; Community Engagement</strong> – Build strong relationships with families, the school community, and local networks to enhance the ELC’s impact.</li> <li><strong>Staff &amp; Performance Management</strong> – Lead recruitment, training, and professional development to cultivate a high-performing team.</li> <li><strong>Health, Safety &amp; Wellbeing</strong> – Ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for children, staff, and families.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p> <ul> <li>A personal commitment to the King's Vision, Mission and Values underpinning the delivery of a Christian based education to students is essential to this role.</li> <li>Bachelor or Degree in Early Childhood Teaching (as approved by ACECQA).</li> <li>Sound knowledge and understanding of the <i>National Quality Framework and Standards</i>, <i>The Early Years Learning Framework</i>, and a commitment to their implementation.</li> <li>Outstanding knowledge and skills in developing curriculum in line with the <i>EYLF</i> and <i>NQF</i>, incorporating the principles of the <strong>Reggio Emilia</strong> approach.</li> <li>Working knowledge of all statutory requirements, licensing, and legislation relating to the provision of children’s services.</li> <li>Proven leadership skills, with the ability to supervise team members to achieve organisational outcomes within time and cost limitations.</li> <li>Ability to provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring support to teachers and educators within the Early Learning Centre.</li> <li>Deep understanding of children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment.</li> <li>Sound understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and its application to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.</li> <li>Current HLTAID004 First Aid Training, mandatory notification certification, and a current Working with Children Check.</li> </ul> <p>If you are a passionate and experienced Early Childhood leader looking to shape the future of young learners within a vibrant, faith-based community, we encourage you to apply.</p> <p>Applications close: 4pm Monday 31 March 2025</p> <p>For more information, please visit our website at <a href="https://ah.kingsbaptist.sa.edu.au/our-community/careers" rel="nofollow">https://ah.kingsbaptist.sa.edu.au/our-community/careers</a></p>
