The People and Culture Manager is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. This role oversees all aspects of human resources management, including strategic workforce planning, staff recruitment and retention, professional development, employee relations, and compliance. The People and Culture Manager provides expert leadership in fostering a positive, engaged, and high-performing workforce. This includes delivering best-practice HR strategies, overseeing policy development, and ensuring alignment with the School’s values. With a strong focus on staff wellbeing, professional growth, and compliance with employment and child safety legislation, this role is instrumental in sustaining St Hilda’s School as an employer of choice and promoting a culture where young women can thrive.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • A commitment to the Anglican ethos and support of the St Hilda’s School vision, mission and values.
  • Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role, with ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Capacity to lead and manage staff, promote staff engagement and wellbeing, and foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Understanding and experience in a wide range of HR functions including recruitment, performance management, employee relations and policy development.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Australian workplace legislation, industrial relations, and HR compliance, including child protection regulations, privacy laws and codes of conduct.

Offered as a permanent full-time position, applicants must have the right to work in Australia and hold relevant certifications and tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
