About the Role
The Director of Teaching Development is part of the Primary School Executive Leadership Team reporting to the Deputy Head - Head of Primary School.
The Director of Teaching Development will be responsible for the development, implementation and leadership of a strategic programme for the professional growth and development of staff in the Primary School that is consistent with approaches to be taken in the Senior School and for operational staff.
Key objectives of this role are to develop staff potential and assist in achieving career aspirations along with the successful delivery of professional learning programmes in collaboration with the Academic Leadership Team. They will be responsible for collaborating with staff through all levels of accreditation and registration. They will coordinate and support pre-service teachers, work experience students and assist to support staff new to the School.
The Director of Teaching Development are part of the Primary School Leadership Team and as such, the time allowance is 0.8 per cycle with a nominal teaching load of 0.2 per cycle. It is expected that they will be in attendance for the week prior to the start of the school year for teachers as to support new staff entering the school and be available for leadership responsibilities at the end of the school year.
