Tangara School for Girls currently has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Head of TAS (Secondary) commencing in Term 1, 2025. This is a permanent full time Secondary Teacher role, in addition to a three year fixed term leadership appointment (with opportunity to extend) that attracts a Coordinator 1 allowance (CO1)

<p>Tangara School for Girls currently has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified <strong>Head of TAS (Secondary)</strong> commencing in Term 1, 2025. This is a <u>permanent</u> full time Secondary Teacher role, in addition to a 3 year fixed term leadership appointment (with opportunity to extend) that attracts a Coordinator 1 allowance (CO1). Reporting to the&nbsp;Teaching and Learning Coordinator, the Head of TAS provides educational leadership and management of Secondary TAS courses.</p> <p>In addition to teaching responsibilities, the Head of TAS (Secondary) will be required to:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate and develop programs for TAS courses, and course overviews (incorporating scope and sequence and assessment schedules) using the prescribed curriculum templates.</li> <li>Monitor the teaching and learning programs for TAS courses.</li> <li>Monitor assessments and examinations for TAS to ensure compliance with relevant policies</li> <li>Student academic management including coordination of reporting and student academic achievement within the department</li> <li>Staff supervision, appraisal and development including fortnightly department meetings</li> <li>Develop and manage the department’s administration, budget and resources</li> </ul> <p>To be successful in this role, you will need to confidently demonstrate the following key skills and experience:</p> <ul> <li>Suitable tertiary qualifications and (ideally) prior experience in leadership roles within a school environment&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrable experience in improving teaching, learning and classroom practices</li> <li>Demonstrable experience teaching TAS subjects to secondary students</li> <li>Ability to oversee the delivery of TAS curricula</li> <li>Knowledge of recent developments in TAS curriculum areas and the NESA syllabus, assessment, and reporting requirements</li> </ul> <p>Personally, you will need to offer:&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to establish a professional rapport with students, staff, and the school community at all levels</li> <li>The highest ethical and professional behaviour and standards when working with students, parents, and school staff members&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to build a unified and effective team</li> <li>Ability to introduce and execute ideas to enhance our TAS department</li> <li>Ability to manage pastoral care issues with effective discussion and processes with staff, students, and parents</li> <li>Support the values and ethos of the school</li> <li>Strong organisational and time management skills, with an ability to meet deadlines</li> </ul> <p>To be considered for this opportunity you must be accredited with the NSW Education Standards Authority and hold a current Working with Children Check.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
