<p><strong>Primary School Teacher – St Raphael’s Primary School, Preston West </strong></p><p>Contract Type: Fixed Term Full Time </p><p>Applications Close: 16th December 2024</p><p>Salary: $78,021- $115,737. Based on experience in accordance with the Teacher scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (<i>CEMEA</i>)</p><p>St Raphael is an integral part of the faith community of Preston West and is one of three parish primary schools. St Raphael is governed under the authority of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Limited (MACS) ABN 18643442371. MACS is the employer of employees at St Raphael’s.</p><p>We are currently seeking a full-time -Teacher for a Mid to Upper Primary Class to commence in Term One, 2025.</p><p>Candidates must have an ability to plan, work and learn in a team environment. The emphasis of this planning is on Faith-Based Inquiry. They must also have excellent classroom management skills and have a commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education and contemporary pedagogues.</p><p><strong>Duties and responsibilities</strong></p><p>Learning and Teaching </p><ul><li>Working in a shared flexible learning spaces and willing to engage with MACS' Vision for Instruction</li><li>Develop a stimulating learning environment which caters to the MACS Vision for Instruction </li><li>Understand and adhere to the professional Code of Conduct – the Australian Standards of Teaching – and the CECV </li><li>Adopt an explicit instruction approach to delivering the Victorian Curriculum </li><li>Engage in learning progress discussions </li><li>Embrace the use of information and communications technologies to enhance learning</li><li>Maintain accurate records of student attendance</li><li>Engage in learning progress discussions </li><li>Write formal academic reports that align to report writing guidelines </li><li>Monitor the progress of each student and provide meaningful and regular feedback to each student on their progress </li><li>Liaise with appropriate support staff on the implementation of the curriculum </li></ul><p>Pastoral Care and Child Safety </p><ul><li>Adhere to our school's Gospel values of Trust, Honesty, Acceptance, and Hope through everyday interactions with all children, parents, and staff members in our school community</li><li>Provide students with a child-safe environment </li><li>Be familiar with and comply with the school’s child-safe policy and Code of Conduct, and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety </li><li>Proactively monitor and support student wellbeing</li><li>Exercise pastoral care in a manner which reflects school values</li><li>Implement strategies which promote a healthy and positive learning environment </li><li>Attend school liturgical celebrations </li><li>Establish and maintain effective classroom management strategies</li></ul><p>Curriculum Development</p><ul><li>Ensure planning aligns to the MACS Vision for Instruction and the school’s Annual Action Plan </li><li>Plan, develop, review and evaluate curriculum </li><li>Develop, deliver and analyse assessment </li></ul><p>Professional Development </p><ul><li>Work collaboratively and collegially with others </li><li>Have current knowledge of evidence-based teaching practices aligned to the Science of Learning </li><li>Commit to ongoing professional development </li></ul><p>General and Administrative Duties</p><ul><li>Be flexible, self-motivated and hardworking teacher who will work closely with colleagues to achieve the best learning outcomes for all children in our care</li><li>Attend all relevant school meetings</li><li>Uphold the professional standards expected of a teacher</li><li>Engage in other duties as directed the Principal </li></ul><p>Skills/Experience required:</p><ul><li>Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.</li><li>A strong commitment to Catholic education.</li><li>An ability to develop and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.</li><li>An ability to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters for the needs of all students.</li><li>An eagerness to learn.</li><li>An enthusiasm to implement a differentiated curriculum and use modern technology to support student learning.</li></ul><p>Special Requirements:</p><ul><li>St Raphael’s promotes the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children; therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.</li><li>The successful applicant will hold the Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.</li><li>Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is preferred.</li><li>Contact details of two referees. </li></ul><p>Please email your resume and cover letter to principal@srprestonwest.catholic.edu.au</p><p>Note: MACS is committed to the safety, wellbeing, and protection of all children in our care.
