We take pride in our vibrant Sport Program, which inspires students to pursue excellence, team spirit, and lifelong wellness.</p><p><strong>Role Overview:</strong><br />Siena College is seeking a dedicated and dynamic <strong>Director of Sport</strong> to lead our high-quality Sport Program. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the program, including coaching, administration, and the development of student athletes. The Director of Sport will ensure that our students achieve their highest potential in a supportive, inclusive, and high-expectation environment while enhancing Siena College&#39;s presence within the GSV (Girls Sport Victoria) network and the local community.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>College Leadership:</strong></p><ul><li>Lead the Sport Department and serve as Head Coach for selected sports, fostering student participation and a culture of excellence.</li><li>Promote team spirit, pride, and enthusiasm in the College community, and maintain high standards in sporting performance and conduct.</li><li>Develop a balanced program that supports both high achievers and broad student participation, ensuring risk management and safety compliance.</li><li>Represent Siena College professionally at external events and networks, including GSV meetings.</li></ul><p><strong>Staff Leadership and Collaboration:</strong></p><ul><li>Manage, support, and monitor the performance of sport staff, coaches, and volunteers.</li><li>Oversee the recruitment, induction, and professional development of sports staff, ensuring compliance with child safety and college policies.</li><li>Collaborate closely with the Head of Health and Physical Education and manage AFL trainees.</li><li>Develop sports policies and procedures and ensure awareness of duty-of-care responsibilities.</li></ul><p><strong>Program Administration:</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee logistics for all inter-school competitions, sports carnivals, and tours (domestic and international).</li><li>Manage the sport budget and support the design and procurement of sports uniforms and equipment.</li><li>Coordinate recognition of student achievements, including award ceremonies and honours boards.</li><li>Engage with external providers for special sporting activities like Snowsports and Equestrian competitions.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Proven experience in a similar leadership role within an educational or sporting environment.</li><li>Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of excellence and teamwork.</li><li>Comprehensive understanding of compliance, occupational health, and safety requirements in a sporting context.</li></ul><p>This is an exciting opportunity to lead and inspire Siena College’s Sport Program, working with committed students, staff, and community members to continue building a vibrant and inclusive sporting culture.</p><p>Key responsibilities of the role may be found on the College website, including Application Form and full Position Description.</p><p><a href="http://www.siena.vic.edu.au/our-college/employment" rel="nofollow">www.siena.vic.edu.au/our-college/employment</a></p><p>A covering letter supported by the College Application Form, curriculum vitae, qualifications and the names of three referees should be addressed to the Principal and emailed to Human Resources Manager, Ms Joanna Wong at <a href="mailto:hr&#64;siena.vic.edu.au" rel="nofollow">hr&#64;siena.vic.edu.au</a></p><p><i>The successful candidate must have the relevant rights to work in Australia.</i></p><p><i>This position does not require a VIT Registration.</i></p><p>Applications will be processed upon receipt. </p><p><strong>Applications close 4.00pm on Wednesday, 20 November 2024</strong></p><p><i>The Siena College community promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.</i></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
