The Head of the Science / STEM should be comfortable interacting with those of various backgrounds and professional levels, from parents to school administrators. Besides these important abilities, a Senior School Head of Department must possess the following skills:</p><p>The successful candidate will have:</p><ul><li>The Bachelor of Teaching Degree (Secondary) with a specialisation in and well-developed pedagogical content knowledge and expertise in the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, preferably including HSC marking</li><li>Successful teaching experience with the capacity to support and develop improvement in teaching and learning.</li><li>Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to foster positive relationships with students, peers, staff and parents.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership of a team, improving the collective outcomes of both staff and student performance.</li><li>Demonstrated understanding of the NESA requirements for the SCIENCE / STEM Key Learning Area Stages Four to Six </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a large and diverse team</li><li>Exceptional personal standards of honesty, integrity and professionalism</li><li>Highly refined communication skills, both written and verbal</li><li>Ability to uphold and promote the Christian values and ethos of the College</li><li>a current Working with Children Check</li></ul>
