Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced teachers to join our community in the role of Learning Diversity Leader. This is a senior leadership role in the school.

<p>The Learning Diversity Leader is a senior leadership role within the school.  As a member of the Stewardship Team, the  Leader will work closely with other school leaders to ensure structures and practices across the school reflect the belief that all children can make excellent progress regardless of their starting points, if they are given appropriate learning opportunities and necessary support. </p><p>The Learning Diversity Leader plays a pivotal role in promoting inclusive education practice, fostering a culture of diversity and the delivery of targeted support and interventions.  They lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures and interventions supporting the teaching and learning of children with diverse needs. </p><p>Through effective leadership of the multidisciplinary <i>Learning Diversity Team</i>, the Leader is responsible for ensuring: </p><ul><li>Teachers are equipped to closely monitor individual progress and tailor classroom practices to best meet children’s needs.</li><li>Teachers are equipped to use evidence from a range of assessments to establish where children are in their learning as a starting point for differentiating their teaching</li><li>The perspectives of children, families, and relevant professionals inform adjustments to teaching, learning, and assessment to best meet children’s needs</li><li>Targeted interventions are in place for children identified as requiring additional support. </li><li>Rigorous and impactful strategies for supporting children that require targeted interventions are embedded.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Skills and Attributes:</strong></p><p>This position requires that you have:</p><ul><li>Sound knowledge and demonstrated understanding of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS). </li><li>Sound knowledge and demonstrated understanding of Response to Intervention and how it guides our provision of intervention and support. </li><li>Sound knowledge and demonstrated understanding of differentiation and how to embed this across the curriculum. </li><li>Sound knowledge and demonstrated understanding of evidence-based practices to support intervention in Literacy and Numeracy.</li><li>An applied knowledge of a range of common disabilities and the typical adjustments, interventions and supports required. </li><li>The ability to effectively use digital technology. </li><li>Highly developed organisational and time management skills.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.</li><li>A proven track record of behaving professionally and ethically in all settings.</li></ul><p><strong>Mandatory Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>A demonstrated understanding of the ethos of a Catholic school and commitment to its mission.</li><li>A demonstrated understanding of a teacher’s professional responsibilities and legal obligations relating to child safety.</li><li>Be a suitable person to engage in child-connected work.</li><li>Recognised teaching qualifications.</li><li>Current full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching</li><li><i>Preferred</i>:  Post graduate qualifications in either leadership, special education or a related field.</li><li><i>Preferred</i>:  Accreditation to teach in a Catholic school (or be working towards such accreditation)</li></ul>
