<p><strong>Education Officer: Learning and Teaching (Mathematics: 7-12)</strong><br><strong>Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst</strong><br><strong>Permanent Full-Time position&nbsp;</strong><br><strong>Commencing 27 January 2025</strong></p><p><br><strong>About the Role</strong><br>Situated in the Learning, Teaching and Wellbeing team, the Education Officer: Learning and Teaching (Mathematics: 7-12) exists to support school leaders and teachers in the design, delivery and leadership of quality learning and quality teaching practices across our system of schools. It has a particular focus on the KLA of Mathematics and the integration of numeracy across all KLAs.</p><p>As the new Education Officer, you will:</p><ul><li>Actively promote the Vision and Mission of Catholic education in the Diocese</li><li>Collaborate with schools to support the development of the Educational Leadership capabilities and practices in staff, as detailed in the CEDB <i>Leading the Way </i>framework</li><li>Work closely with Teachers in support of enhanced instructional competence and assisting with the implementation of system strategic priorities and initiatives</li><li>Liaising with relevant CEDB staff, principals, contact persons, classroom teachers, support teachers, assistants, parents and guardians and external stakeholders as required</li><li>Providing and coordinating professional development for teachers to increase their capacity to use multimodal approaches in effective and appropriate ways to support classroom learning and teaching</li><li>Undertake travel around our Diocese where required</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>About you</strong><br>We are looking for someone who meets the following selection criteria:</p><ul><li>A commitment to support the values and ethos of the Catholic tradition in the workplace&nbsp;</li><li>A background in primary or secondary Catholic school education with demonstrated success as a classroom practitioner</li><li>Demonstrated success working in secondary Catholic school education with a focus on Mathematics</li><li>Completed Postgraduate study in education and/or leadership will be an advantage</li><li>Capacity to draw on current research and evidence based best practice to plan, implement and support school improvement in Learning and Teaching</li><li>Well-developed written, presentation and interpersonal skills with the capacity to communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders including Principals, teachers, students, families and external agencies</li><li>Demonstrated capacity to manage workload, display initiative and work collaboratively</li></ul><p><br><br>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Next Steps</strong><br>A copy of the position description can be found <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RTwFwi5jO0rAMRFqUxhUt0gchk5HzlIH/view?usp=sharing">here.</a></p><p>For further enquiries please contact the Head: Learning, Teaching and Wellbeing – Rose-Marie van Raad on 02 6338 3050 or by emailing <a href="mailto:r.vanraad@bth.catholic.edu.au">r.vanraad@bth.catholic.edu.au</a></p><p>Click “Apply” to be taken to our online application portal where you will be asked to complete our online application form.
