We are currently on the search for a nurturing and inspiring Head of Sports, Camps & Duke of Edinburgh to oversee the comprehensive management and coordination of all activities and events throughout the year both internally and externally.

<p>Santa Maria College is a Catholic Girls’ Secondary School enriched with the tradition of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan catering for over 800 students from Year 7–12. Candidates with Health, PE and Vocational Major methods encouraged to apply. </p><p>In this position of leadership we are looking for someone who can;</p><ul><li>support and promote the Catholic ethos of the College.</li><li>publicly support the Leadership and leadership decisions of the College.</li><li>work in an honest, open, creative and flexible manner.</li><li>model a collaborative style of leadership which acknowledges the valuable contribution of each member of the College community.</li><li>lead high quality professional conversations that enhance professional knowledge, expectations and practice.</li><li>facilitate team-based professional learning that involves engaging with research evidence and data, intentionally practising strategies in classrooms and reflecting on impact.</li><li>actively build team psychological safety and collective efficacy</li></ul><p><strong>Role Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Co-ordinate and develop camp experiences in Y7 and Y8 in consultation with the Deputy Principal - Learning and Life and the relevant Learning and Growth Leaders</li><li>Co-ordinate the Duke of Edinburgh Award Bronze outdoor experience in Y9 in consultation with the Deputy Principals and the relevant Learning and Growth Leaders</li><li>Collaborate with the Leader of Learning Health and Physical Education to develop resources to support the Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award curriculum</li><li>Co-ordinate the Duke of Edinburgh Award Silver and Gold program in consultation with the Deputy Principals/Principal</li><li>Communicate protocols for working with students and teachers during camps</li><li>Seek ways to develop community links and increase service opportunities for students in line with the MYP</li><li>Maintain and manage equipment in accordance with OH&amp;S</li><li>Liaise with internal and external staff to monitor and manage risk including production of current risk assessment</li><li>Liaise with internal staff including, Student Services, to maintain Child Safe education, practices and requirements for camp and Duke of Edinburgh Award providers</li><li>Identify opportunities to connect experiences in the outdoors with classroom curriculum and actively promote these with the Village Leaders</li><li>Supervise and direct the Administration Assistant in conjunction with the House Leader </li><li>Work collaboratively with the Daily Operations Leader and Management Team to effectively schedule and staff camp experiences</li><li>Liaise with Awards Victoria and the Duke of Edinburgh Award office to manage and facilitate the DOE Award within the College.</li><li>Supervise the College Student DOE Leaders to support the Bronze and Silver Award program</li><li>Liaise with internal administration staff to maintain budgets for all camp experiences.</li><li>Promote and develop the co-curricular Sports program</li><li>Supervise and direct the AFL Trainee and College Sports Captains</li><li>Oversee and co-ordinate House and Inter School Sporting activities and teams</li><li>Work with the Deputy Principal – Learning and Life to lead whole school College House events; Athletics and Swimming carnival</li><li>Monitor student attendance and general conduct at sporting activities</li><li>Inform the Daily Operations Leader in advance of various extra-ordinary sporting activities and changes required in the timetable to accommodate these activities and to inform staff accordingly</li><li>Facilitate the future development of new sporting activities as appropriate in consultation with the Principal</li><li>Provide awards and organise their presentation at suitable times, e.g. assemblies, award presentations, publishing sporting results in appropriate forums</li><li>Document and track the participation of students in sporting activities so that this can be used in Pastoral reports or other needed areas</li><li>Be a member of the SCSA Executive</li><li>Promote, inform and share relevant information with the community</li><li>Attend a Good Samaritan Education formation session during your term in the role</li><li>Retain confidentiality, respectful professional relationships and professional conduct at all times</li><li>Specific day to day responsibilities unique to the role will be clarified in consultation with the appropriate teams when necessary</li><li>Perform any other duties/responsibilities as required by the Principal</li></ul><p><strong>About you</strong></p><ul><li>Leadership Experience (desirable)</li><li>Combination of the following subjects;
