Play a key role in leading the Outdoor Education Faculty of our Senior School across Years 7 – 12.

In this leadership role you will be responsible for all aspects of learning, teaching, assessment, monitoring and curriculum in Outdoor Education. With proven experience in leading and managing people, you will be a role model and mentor to Outdoor Education staff who inspires others to learn and grow.<br /><br /><strong>Key Responsibilities include:</strong></p><ul><li>Lead and manage the Outdoor Education staff to develop and employ highly effective pedagogical practices</li><li>Responsible for the learning and achievement of students studying Outdoor Education</li><li>Teaching Outdoor Education, able to teach in other areas and is responsible for the implementation of the relevant areas of the Australian Curriculum</li><li>Contribute to the analysis and interpretation of relevant school, local and national data and advise the Director of Learning on the level of resources required to maximize achievement with regards to both Outdoor and Environmental Education (including camps and Westventure), a problem-solving spirit and a focus on Service</li><li>Lead the work associated with the cross-curricular strands of the capability of problem-solving and Service across the School ensuring authentic experiences and work to ensure it permeates the Curriculum</li><li>Leadership and Management of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award will play an essential part of this role.</li></ul><p><i><strong>Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications, Skills and Experience:</strong></i></p><ul><li>Relevant tertiary qualifications and an experienced Outdoor Education Teacher</li><li>Current (or ability to attain) SA Teacher Registration</li><li>Exemplary classroom practitioner with a proven record of student outcomes</li><li>A leader in exceptional pedagogy and curriculum who will reinvigorate the curriculum</li><li>Proven experience in leading and managing people</li><li>Previous experience in leading projects and change management</li><li>Demonstrated ability to make links with Primary levels and have a ‘whole-school’ focus</li><li>High level understanding of SACE and SACE modernisation</li><li>High level of ICT skills, knowledge and incorporation into classroom practice</li><li>Involvement at SACE level (moderation and marking) is desirable</li><li>Regular and up to date professional knowledge and learning</li><li>Accreditation as a Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher (or working towards) will be viewed favourably.</li></ul><p>You are an innovator and initiator, who inspires others to learn and grow.  A collaborative team player, you have a ‘whole School’ and ‘whole child’ perspective.  Your enthusiasm, resilience and optimism is key to success in this role and you see yourself as a lifelong learner, committed to continuous improvement.  You will have a high level of organisational and prioritising skills, with the ability to be flexible to manage multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.
