<p><strong>Location:</strong> Catholic Education Office, Wollongong</p><p>The Director of Schools, Diocese of Wollongong, invites applications from experienced&nbsp;payroll professionals for one permanent full time position and one fixed term position of&nbsp;Senior Payroll Officer based in Wollongong commencing as soon as possible.</p><p><strong>WHY WORK FOR CATHOLIC EDUCATION IN THE DIOCESE OF WOLLONGONG</strong></p><p>We provide our team with:</p><ul><li>Generous remuneration&nbsp;</li><li>An environment that encourages innovation and collaboration through education</li><li>A collaborative team culture</li><li>Hybrid Working Arrangements</li><li>Salary Packaging Opportunities</li><li>Ex-gratia leave during the Christmas period.</li></ul><p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE</strong></p><p>Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager your duties will include:</p><ul><li>End to end payroll processing and administration of entitlements for a client group of 650 employees on a fortnightly cycle</li><li>Providing all payroll services and maintaining accurate records according to the relevant awards, agreements and legislative conditions and in alignment with policies, culture and values</li><li>Providing exceptional customer service and advice via phone and ticketing systems. You will respond to and resolve complex enquiries and issues ensuring the provision of accurate information, and timely and effective resolution</li><li>Processing new starters, terminations and payroll adjustments and administering superannuation and salary packaging</li><li>Contributing to payroll reporting, payroll system checks, administration and process compliance for superannuation, workers compensation, single touch payroll and paid parental leave</li><li>Interpreting and advising on payroll related acts, awards, agreements, policies and procedures.</li><li>Contributing to continuous improvement including identifying opportunities to improve and streamline processes to meet business requirements that require technical or system solutions, and carrying out testing for all system upgrades</li><li>Developing and maintaining currency of knowledge in the areas of best practice payroll, superannuation, salary packaging and entitlement administration&nbsp;</li><li>Assisting, peer-mentoring and cross training team members as required</li><li>Additional tasks to assist the broader team</li></ul><p><strong>KEY SELECTION REQUIREMENTS</strong></p><ul><li>At least 3 years of experience in processing payroll and managing complex payroll issues including interpreting Enterprise Agreements and related legislation</li><li>Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple and competing priorities in a fast paced, high volume processing environment</li><li>A passion to provide high quality customer service to our teachers, principals, professionals and support staff</li><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the initiative to problem solve, triage or manage significant issues</li><li>Positive working approach within a highly collaborative team</li><li>Experience contributing to payroll improvement or similar projects to deliver improved user service experience, process efficiency and/or improved compliance</li><li>High level computer proficiency including intermediate MS Excel skills</li><li>Experience with Fusion5 EmpowerHR is highly regarded, but not essential</li><li>Payroll or other related qualifications desirable</li></ul><p><strong>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</strong></p><p>This role is classified as child related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.</p><p><strong>POSITION APPLICATION</strong></p><p>Applicants are to complete an online application which asks you to briefly address the key selection requirements.
