<p><strong>Location:</strong> Manuka, Canberra ACT <br><strong>Employment Type: </strong>Full-Time, Ongoing<br><strong>Salary Range: </strong>$155,907 to $168,549 plus superannuation (based on skills and experience)<br><strong>Start Date:</strong> February 2025<br><strong>Closing Date:</strong> 11.55 pm, Thursday 29 August 2024 <br> <br><strong>About Us </strong></p><p>Catholic Education, Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn (CECG) plays an integral role in education in the ACT and NSW, operating 56 Schools and nine Early Learning Centres (ELCs). </p><p>The Catholic Education Office (CEO) provides corporate services to the CECG system of Schools and ELCs. </p><p><strong>About the Role </strong></p><p>The role of Senior Officer, Teaching and Learning – Numeracy develops, coordinates, implements and reviews curriculum, assessment, and pedagogy across the Archdiocese.</p><p>The position is responsible for implementing effective Mathematics instruction aligned to CECG’s Catalyst professional learning framework of theory by:</p><ul><li>demonstrating, modelling effective teaching practice;<br> </li><li>providing coaching and feedback to classroom teachers and support to leaders to improve learning outcomes for students from kindergarten to year </li><li>Support for professional development and study opportunities</li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Lead key projects within Catalyst in Numeracy and High Impact Teaching Practice with specific focus on curriculum development, instructional coaching and demonstration of practice utilising a High Impact Teaching Practice approach, including Explicit Instruction and Direct Instruction.</li><li>Provide high quality demonstration of practice, coaching, support and professional learning at system, whole school, cohort, and individual teacher /class levels to enable the implementation of effective curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment practice in line with Catalyst.</li><li>Design and deliver any planning sessions and/or professional learning aligned with the Science of Learning.</li><li>Lead the targeted exploration, implementation and support of evidence-based intervention and screening assessment in Numeracy.</li><li>Lead, provide support, and collaborate with all members of Teaching and Learning Team in their provision of high-quality support to school communities to improve teaching practice and student outcomes.</li><li>Foster networks and connections between schools with curriculum development, specifically in Mathematics across NSW and ACT</li><li>Coordinate, facilitate and support other curriculum areas through working groups and engaging subject matter experts.</li><li>Work closely with the Education Lead and Program Manager to ensure effective and efficient process occurs of monitoring, tracking, and managing tasks, resources, and timelines to achieve set project goals and deliverables.</li><li>Collaborate and support the implementation, data collation and reporting accountabilities of government funded initiatives at Archdiocesan and individual school level.</li><li>Represent and work closely with external consultants, governing bodies, and Universities, on behalf of the Education Lead and/or Director, to support the system, aligned to Catalyst.</li><li>Report frequently and provide briefs to the Education Lead relating to any school, system, government communication or requirement that needs attention, providing any recommendations deemed necessary.</li><li>Commitment to adapt role and responsibilities, based on evolving system priorities and to meet school needs.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Post graduate Education qualifications and Teaching experience required, with experience as a leader in curriculum, pedagogy and/or assessment.</li><li>Teaching experience and/or knowledge across Primary and/or Secondary context</li><li>ACT and NSW teacher accreditation, in accordance with TQI and NESA.</li><li>Current working with Children’s registrations in NSW and ACT (WWCC and WWVP).</li><li>Current Driver's License.</li></ul><p><strong>Selection Criteria</strong></p><ol><li>Proven capacity to support leaders in developing, implementing, and reviewing programs for school-based teaching and learning across all year levels.</li><li>Proven capacity to demonstrate, model and coach high impact teaching practice in Mathematics and experience as a leader in curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.</li><li>Detailed knowledge, understanding and the successful implementation of core frameworks and policies, including relevant curriculum documents.</li><li>Excellent communication (verbal and written) and facilitation skills to present at, collaborate with, and prepare executive reports for a range of stakeholders across the Archdiocese, the Catholic Education Commission, Government sectors and external agencies.</li><li>Proven ability in developing, supporting, and implementing strategic initiatives that support system priorities, such as Catalyst.</li><li>Capacity to collate, analyse and use data for strategic planning and budgets.</li><li>Excellent time management skills to work at pace and respond to need.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage change effectively and deliver quality results.</li></ol><p><i>Please refer to the position description for in-depth details regarding the criteria and
