<p><strong>Location:</strong> Catholic Education Office, Wollongong</p><p>The Director of Schools invites applications from suitably experienced educators for this full time position in the Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing Team at Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong commencing September 2024. The successful applicant in this position will work predominantly&nbsp;with&nbsp;teachers of students in Kindergarten to Year 6 but will be required to have an understanding of numeracy K-12. It is expected that the successful applicant will also support the mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Wollongong and promote the strategic direction document, "Lighting the Way" through the Continuous Catholic School Improvement Framework.</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA:</strong></p><p>To be considered for this position, the applicant will be able to demonstrate they have transferable skills and experience that will demonstrate they are an effective leader who:</p><ul><li>gives witness to the faith and contributes to the Catholic life and culture of the school community.</li><li>builds a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data.</li><li>builds capacity through their own professional development and supporting school staff by providing access to effective continual professional learning opportunities.</li><li>acts strategically to support Curriculum Leaders as they assist School Leadership Teams in driving school improvement initiatives aligned to the system’s Strategic Direction.</li><li>demonstrates innovation in an educational facility.</li></ul><p><strong>GENERAL CAPABILITIES</strong> applicable to the role:</p><ul><li>Well-developed interpersonal skills.</li><li>Well-developed oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.</li><li>Strong organisational skills.</li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p><ul><li>Post-graduate study in a relevant discipline.</li><li>Accreditation in accordance with the ‘Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong’ policy (or a commitment to acquiring within a 5 year period).</li><li>Current driver’s licence</li></ul><p><strong>MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Work collaboratively across the CEDoW service ares to ensure system strategic goals and objectives are realised by providing differentiated support to schools.</li><li>Develop, lead and facilitate professional learning opportunities through structured and informal professional learning experiences, in order to build the capability of school staff to support each student.</li><li>Supporting teachers particularly in the area of numeracy to improve pedagogy, leading to improved learning outcomes.</li><li>Supporting schools to develop quality programs linked to new curriculum.</li><li>Assist teachers with resources, materials, tools, information etc. to support classroom instruction and planning.</li><li>Interpret and respond to data to improve student learning outcomes, particularly in the area of numeracy.</li></ul><p><strong>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</strong></p><p>This role is classified as a child related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.</p><p><strong>POSITION APPLICATION:</strong></p><p>Applicants are to complete an online application which asks to briefly address the essential criteria (the dot points in the ‘ABOUT YOU’ section of this position advertisement).
