<p>St. Narsai Assyrian Christian College is a co-educational independent school providing education to students from Years 7-12. We integrate these principles and values into our curriculum, fostering an atmosphere of respect, integrity, and empathy.</p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>The college seeks to appoint a suitably, qualified or experienced Library Technician to join our team. As the Library Technician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality administration and support to staff and students and maintaining the daily operations in the library, while working in collaboration with the Teacher Librarian to develop students’ 21st-century inquiry learning skills and equip them for lifelong learning.</p><p>This is a Temporary part-time 2 day per week role, commencing Term 3, to the end of Term 4, 2024</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain a positive environment in the library which is respectful of all present and fosters student learning.</li><li>Provide direct customer support to students and teaching staff relative to library services and resources.</li><li>Provide access to information resources through efficient and well-guided systems for organising, retrieving, and circulating resources.</li><li>Supervise students while they use the library during recess, lunch breaks, study periods, and Homework Club outside school hours.</li><li>Facilitate and support student engagement experiences and learning initiatives in consultation with the Teacher Librarian.</li><li>Maintain library resources, records, and systems, through cataloguing and classification.</li><li>operating a wide range of digital technologies and platforms</li><li>All aspects of resource management and administration of student library information (Oliver v5).</li></ul><p><strong>About You</strong></p><ul><li>Relevant ALIA accredited Library Technician qualifications (Certificate IV or Diploma of Library and Information Services).</li><li>Previous experience working in libraries (school, public, or tertiary).</li><li>Experience or familiarity with Library Management Systems.</li><li>Strong digital technology skills.</li><li>A flexible attitude with a willingness to learn new skills.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively within a small team as well as independently.</li><li>Friendly personality with excellent communication skills.</li><li>Ability to demonstrate flexibility to multitask and respond quickly to changing priorities.</li><li>High ethical standards and willingness to actively support the ethos of the college.</li><li>Possess a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).<br /> </li></ul><p>Applications close: <strong>Thursday 18 July 2024</strong> (interviews may commence before the closing date)</p><p>Salaries are based on the Independent Schools NSW (Support And Operational Staff) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021 (and paid above the Agreed rate).</p><p><strong>How to apply</strong></p><p>Applications should be made in writing and forwarded to Janet Jammo, Human Resource Manager via email at hr&#64;acs.nsw.edu.au by the closing date.</p><p>1) A cover letter addressing the Essential criteria and suitability to the position ( no more than 2 pages)</p><p>2) CV, including at least three referees (Referees will be contracted only after prior consultation with the candidate)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
