<p><strong>Head of Male Boarding </strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>About us</strong><br />Yirara College is a well-regarded, independent, secondary Aboriginal boarding college based on Christian values, providing a wide range of teaching and recreational programs for its students. Located 8 kms south of Alice Springs in Central Australia. </p><p><strong>The Role</strong><br />The Head of Male Boarding is required to communicate effectively with Senior House parents and Boarding staff to ensure that the Boarding House environment is a positive and engaging place where students feel safe and encouraged.  This includes the development and implementation of procedures to ensure all staff and students have a clear understanding of expectations and guidelines.</p><p>The role&#39;s responsibilities will include: </p><ul><li>Actively participating in the development, implementation and review of a Boarding strategic plan collaboratively with the Principal and Director of Business Operations </li><li>Compile Boarding staff Performance Reviews in conjunction with Human Resource Team.</li><li>Providing leadership in the creation and nurturing of an environment of care and guidance to students to facilitate their development in spiritual, social, emotional, physical and educational areas.</li><li>Participating in the effective management of WH&amp;S requirements within the Boarding environment.</li><li>Providing advice and timely reports to the Principal as required including fortnightly rosters. </li><li>Ensuring the proper management of relevant aspects of the Boarding budget as instructed by the Director of Business Operations.</li><li>Ensuring that Boarding policies, processes and procedures are understood by staff and students, and consistently implemented and practiced in accordance with College requirements.</li><li>Termly visits to community locations is prioritised as a means of maintaining connection with family and students. </li><li>To be available by phone after hours to support the Senior male boarding House parents and maybe expected to attend the College after hours.</li><li>Be part of a rotating Executive On Call Roster</li></ul><p><strong>What is on offer</strong></p><ul><li>Fully subsidized on-campus accommodation </li><li>An above award salary</li><li>Salary sacrificing</li></ul><p>To better understand more about this opportunity, please contact our HR Team on <a href="mailto:08%208950%205644" rel="nofollow">08 8950 5644</a> or <a href="mailto:hr&#64;yirara.nt.edu.au" rel="nofollow">hr&#64;yirara.nt.edu.au</a>  <br /><br />Applicants must be able to work in the Northern Territory.
