<p><strong>ABOUT US</strong></p><p>Knox Grammar School is an independent, multi-campus Kindergarten to Year 12 day and boarding school for boys, located at Wahroonga on Sydney’s North Shore. In addition to the single-sex campuses, Knox also operates Wahroonga Preparatory School, a co-educational campus for students Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6.</p><p>A leading Uniting Church School, Knox aims to develop students of Faith, Wisdom, Integrity, Compassion and Courage within a caring Christian environment.</p><p><strong>ABOUT THE ROLE</strong></p><p>An opportunity has arisen at Knox Grammar School senior campus for a Head of Department, Mathematics. This is a permanent full-time position, commencing in Term 4.</p><p>The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:</p><ul><li>Relevant tertiary degree, teaching qualifications and NSW Teaching registration.</li><li>Proven people leadership of a large and high performing academic department.</li><li>Highly skilled in mentorship of junior team members, to support their career development and coaching supportively to improve outcomes.</li><li>Well-developed content knowledge and expertise in Mathematics teaching, Years 7 to 12.</li><li>Excellent understanding of current theory and research relating to educational pedagogy, particularly as it pertains to Mathematics.</li><li>A willingness to support professional development in wellbeing literacies and oversee their use in the classroom.</li><li>Use of student learning data to target teaching and review learning programmes.</li><li>A demonstrated ability to support staff in managing behaviour.</li><li>Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to foster positive relationships with students, peers, staff and parents.</li></ul><p><i>As at February 2024, the salary for a Band 1 graduate teacher rose from $87,191 to $96,400 (11.31% above the AIS MEA) and the salary for the top of Scale Knox teacher has risen from $128,607 to $137,665 (12.19% above the AIS MEA).</i></p><p><strong>OUR OFFER</strong></p><p>Our staff across all campuses are key to providing exceptional experiences.
