<p>Applications are warmly invited from experienced and suitably qualified leaders for the role of Head of Human Resources at PLC Sydney and PLC Armidale. Based at PLC Sydney, but working across both schools, this is rare opportunity to join the executive of two outstanding schools. Although the schools operate independently, the College Council is a combined council for both PLC Sydney and PLC Armidale, setting the strategic direction to ensure the schools continue their long-standing tradition of academic excellence.
</p><p>The schools are a ministry of the Presbyterian Church in Australia and welcome girls of all faith backgrounds or none. As Christian colleges they respect the uniqueness of each student, fostering care and consideration. Education is seen as a dynamic journey of understanding and shaping a future with warmth, enthusiasm, and practical inspiration. The schools aim to instil a practical love for learning, empowering girls to express themselves and engage meaningfully in their world.
</p><p>The Head of Human Resources, reporting directly to the Principal of PLC Sydney, holds a pivotal executive role with cross-matrix reporting responsibilities for both PLC Sydney and PLC Armidale. This full-time position requires dynamic leadership, focusing on attracting and retaining high-quality staff in alignment with the overall Strategic Plans of the Colleges. Specific responsibilities encompass overseeing recruitment processes, managing industrial relations, and ensuring compliance with national and state regulations. The role also involves maintaining staff manuals, reviewing the Code of Conduct, and collaborating with legal advisors on personnel matters.
</p><p>To excel in this position, the Head of Human Resources must contribute to the Christian faith-basis and values of the colleges, represent the Principal's views professionally, and demonstrate strong analytical, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience in human resources are essential, along with knowledge of HR information systems and databases. Overall, the Head of Human Resources plays a crucial role in shaping and implementing policies that align with the mission and values of the colleges, fostering a positive and effective work environment.
