The College is seeking to employ a highly motivated, passionate Learning Support Teacher who is appropriately qualified and is keen to work in a committed and professional team. This is a part-time (0.6 FTE) permanent position, commencing in January 2024.

<p>St Mary and St Mina’s Coptic College is an Independent Co-educational K to Year 12 school located in Rockdale, just 10 minutes away from the CBD and based on Christian beliefs and practices. This is a part-time (0.6 FTE) permanent position, commencing in January 2024.</b></p> <p><b><i>Key Selection Criteria </i></b></p> <p>the successful applicant for the above position must be able to provide evidence to support the following criteria:</p> <ul> <li>Strong personal Christian faith or willing to accept the College ethos and values</li> <li>Evidence of innovative classroom practices</li> <li>A high standard of competency and proficiency as a learning support teacher</li> <li>Excellent knowledge and understanding of the integration of technology in the delivery of learning</li> <li>Demonstrate an understanding of how students learn and effective classroom teaching strategies and the capacity to work with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning</li> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure positive relationships with students, teachers, parents and allied health professionals</li> <li>Ability to prioritise and work as part of a team<br></li> </ul> <p><b><i>Qualifications/Experience</i></b></p> <ul> <li>Appropriate teaching qualifications &amp; accreditation in NSW (NESA)</li> <li>Bachelor of Special and Inclusive Education or other relevant tertiary degree or extensive experience in a Learning Support teaching role (essential);</li> <li>Previous experience working in mainstream schools, preferably secondary, working with students with diverse needs, including cognitive, behavioural and social needs;</li> <li>Experience working with students in a classroom and withdrawal settings;</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to develop and implement programmes to address identified needs (for example, literacy, numeracy, meta-cognition, study skills and social communication);</li> <li>An understanding of the Response to Intervention (RTI) Support Framework and Disability Standards for Education;</li> <li>Experience assessing individual student needs including the ability to perform relevant diagnostic tests such as YARC;</li> <li>The ability to develop and maintain Individual Education Plans;&nbsp;</li> <li>Solid understanding of NCCD and the associated record keeping;&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><b><i>Applications should include: </i></b></p> <p>Cover application letter</p> <ul> <li>Resume outlining teaching, leadership and other experience relevant to the position</li> <li>A statement of educational philosophy</li> <li>Written response addressing the Key Selection Criteria in a maximum of 2 pages</li> <li>Valid NSW Working with Children details (WWCC)</li> </ul> <p>St Mary &amp; St Mina’s Coptic Orthodox College is dedicated to maintaining a child-safe environment and is committed to the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all children and young people entrusted to our care.
