Cedar College is seeking a casual High School Education Support Officer to foster a supportive and nurturing environment where every student can thrive. Our Education Support Officers work within the class or classes designated by the High School CANOPY Coordinator and under the supervision of the classroom teacher/s.

Our Education Support Officers (ESOs) contribute to this mission, offering personalised support to students and helping create a dynamic, inclusive classroom experience. Our Education Support Officers work within the class or classes designated by the High School CANOPY Coordinator and under the supervision of the classroom teacher/s.</p> <p><strong>DETAILS SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION:</strong></p> <p><strong>At Cedar College, we believe that children are created in the image of God and therefore are valued as unique and capable individuals, full of potential. With a strong focus on building relationships, our students develop a sense of community and belonging that will support them in maximising their learning outcomes. Our support staff work alongside teachers to support students.</strong></p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Supporting individual or small groups of students on a broad range of educational activities as allocated by the class teacher.</li> <li>Supporting students in specialist lessons as allocated by the CANOPY Coordinator.</li> <li>Participating in class excursions, incursions and special events.</li> <li>Adequate familiarisation with content of lessons in which support is being offered.</li> <li>Learn classroom routines, expectations, rewards and consequence systems.</li> <li>Participating in professional development courses and other learning opportunities.</li> <li>Other duties as negotiated.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Personal Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate a sincere commitment to Jesus Christ, the philosophy of Christian Education, and be actively involved in your local church.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the spectrum of learning difficulties and an awareness of the types of adjustments required to support students.</li> <li>Passionate about seeing improved learning outcomes for all students.</li> <li>Be reliable and responsible in building trust within the Cedar community and acting with excellence and integrity.</li> <li>Demonstrate the ability to interact with students and colleagues in a positive, sensitive and respectful manner.</li> <li>Ability to model and develop positive relationships with students and foster their social and emotional development.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Necessary Qualifications and Checks:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Certificate III in School-Based Education Support or higher (desirable) or a relevant tertiary degree, or currently undertaking university study.</li> <li>Current Working with Children Check</li> <li>Provide First Aid (HLTAID012)&nbsp;</li> <li>RRHAN-EC training (Responding to the Risk of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care training) prior to commencing employment at Cedar College.</li> <li>Protective Practices (can be completed upon commencement)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Applications Close:</strong>&nbsp;9am, Monday, October 19th, 2026.</p> <p><a href="https://www.cedarcollege.sa.edu.au/news/advertised-positions/" rel="nofollow">Visit the Cedar College website for more information.</a></p>
