<p><strong>Key responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead consistent relational practice that is respectful, responsive, strengths-based and protective of each child’s dignity, agency, culture and sense of belonging.</li> <li>As Educational Leader, lead the design, implementation, documentation and evaluation of a child-centred recreation and leisure program that aligns with <i>My Time, Our Place</i> and reflects the strengths, interests, cultures, identities and capabilities of children.</li> <li>Drive high-quality educational practice by guiding educators to observe, interpret, support and extend children’s participation, agency and learning, while establishing effective assessment and planning processes</li> <li>Develop, implement, monitor and review risk-minimisation systems covering supervision, arrivals and departures, excursions, transport, emergency and evacuation, incidents, medical conditions, medication, allergies, infectious illness, food safety, sun protection, digital safety and safe physical environments.</li> <li>Ensure educator deployment and rosters meet regulated child-to-educator ratios, qualification requirements and the service’s supervision plan at all times.</li> <li>Plan, monitor and in collaboration with College leadership evaluate indoor and outdoor environments so they are safe, inclusive, well-maintained, developmentally appropriate and support diverse forms of play, leisure, learning and rest.</li> <li>Lead daily workforce planning and deployment, including preparing rosters, relief arrangements and allocation of responsibilities</li> <li>Identify capability and development needs, coordinate professional learning, provide regular feedback and support individual development plans in consultation with the Principal or delegate.</li> <li>Develop respectful, reciprocal partnerships with families and provide regular, accessible information about the program, children’s participation, service operations and opportunities for involvement.</li> <li>Develop, implement and review effective management systems, policies, procedures, risk controls, records and delegations that enable a quality, child-safe and compliant service.</li> <li>Maintain readiness for regulatory, funding and organisational requirements and ensure accurate statutory notifications, returns, records and reports are completed within required timeframes.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About you</strong></p> <ul> <li>Advanced Diploma or Diploma in OSHC or Children's Services or relevant Degree or Early Childhood Education Qualification (or ACECQA-approved equivalent)</li> <li>Proven experience as a Centre Director or a senior leadership role</li> <li>Knowledge of ACECQA guidelines</li> <li>Demonstrated specialised knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standard, Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, My Time, Our Place and contemporary OSHC practice</li> <li>Knowledge and experience in developing and implementing age-appropriate and curriculum-aligned learning models</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills</li> <li>Sound observation and reporting skills</li> <li>Intermediate computer literacy skills, or proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word</li> <li>Knowledge in business and financial acumen</li> <li>Valid Working with Children Check, Protective Practices and Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care training, A First Aid and CPR Certificates</li> </ul> <p>For details about St Mary’s College and a copy of the Position Information Document , please visit the School’s website at https://www.stmarys.sa.edu.au</p> <p>To apply, please provide the following addressed to Mrs Heidi Senior, Principal</p> <ul> <li>Resume</li> <li>Covering letter addressing the key areas of responsibility.&nbsp;</li> <li>Contact details of three referees, including your current Principal.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Applications must be submitted as a single PDF containing the covering letter, resume and referee details.</strong></p> <p><strong>The work pattern will be determined in discussion with the successful candidate.</strong></p> <p>Applications will close <strong>9am Wednesday 14 October 2026</strong>.
