Cranbrook School is seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic teacher of Physics, suitably qualified to teach HSC Physics in Years 11 and 12 and Science in Years 7 to 10. <p><strong>POSITION OVERVIEW</strong></p>
<p>Cranbrook School is seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic teacher of Physics, suitably qualified to teach HSC Physics in Years 11 and 12 and Science in Years 7 to 10. <p><strong>ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Expert knowledge of Physics and an understanding of the NESA Stage 6 Physics syllabus</li>
<li>The ability or willingness to teach IB Diploma Programme Physics</li>
<li>A demonstrated record of strong student outcomes in HSC Physics or an equivalent senior Physics course</li>
<li>The ability to teach Stage 4 and Stage 5 Science across all strands</li>
<li>The ability to design and run safe, effective practical investigations, including data collection and analysis using digital sensors and software</li>
<li>The ability to develop, implement and evaluate effective, engaging teaching programs which incorporate a range of ICT strategies</li>
<li>The ability to differentiate classroom activities to meet the learning needs of all students, including extending high-ability students</li>
<li>Effective classroom management skills and the ability to create and promote a positive learning environment</li>

<p><strong>A WILLINGNESS TO</strong></p>

<li>Work collaboratively within the Science Department</li>
<li>Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum for Years 7–12 under the direction of the Head of Department – Science</li>
<li>Contribute to academic enrichment in Physics, such as Olympiad programs, competitions and STEM initiatives</li>
<li>Participate in the pastoral care of students, including as a Mentor within the House system if required</li>
<li>Participate in the co-curricular programs of the School</li>
<li>Undertake other duties requested by the Head of School</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A tertiary degree with a major in Physics (or related discipline)</li>
<li>A recognised tertiary teaching qualification</li>
<li>NESA accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or higher</li>
<li>A current NSW Working With Children Check (Employee)</li>
<li>Substantial experience teaching senior Physics</li>
<li>Experience as an HSC marker, or in curriculum or program development, is desirable</li>
<li>
<p>Experience in a co-educational setting is desirable</p>
