Concordia Lutheran College invites applications for the position of Head of Secondary College, commencing in January 2027. This is a pivotal Executive Leadership role responsible for leading the Secondary College (7–12), and Boarding program within our vibrant K–12 co‑educational Lutheran College.

<p>Concordia Lutheran College invites applications for the position of Head of Secondary College, commencing in January 2027. This is a pivotal Executive Leadership role responsible for leading the Secondary College (7–12), and Boarding program within our vibrant K–12 co‑educational Lutheran College.</p>
<p>The Head of Secondary College is a values‑driven leader who sets the cultural tone, inspires excellence, and ensures alignment with the College’s strategic direction. Through visible, relational and purposeful leadership, the successful candidate will cultivate a positive school culture, drive academic achievement, strengthen student wellbeing, and empower staff through professional growth and collaborative practice.</p>
<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>The Head of Secondary College will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Provide strategic, cultural and educational leadership across Years 7–12, fostering innovation, inclusion and wellbeing.</li>
<li>Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Secondary College and Boarding program, ensuring a safe, welcoming and high‑performing environment.</li>
<li>Lead curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and reporting in partnership with the Director of Curriculum (Secondary College), ensuring compliance with QCAA, ACARA and College standards.</li>
<li>Strengthen student wellbeing, behaviour frameworks and restorative practices through collaboration with the Director of Pastoral Care & Wellbeing (Secondary College).</li>
<li>Oversee boarding operations, staff development, student care, compliance and community engagement.</li>
<li>Lead staff across the full employment lifecycle, embedding a culture of collaboration, feedback, coaching and professional learning.</li>
<li>Champion the College within the broader community, engaging with families, partner organisations and regional networks.</li>
<li>Ensure robust compliance across WHS, risk, child safety, CRICOS and legislative requirements.</li>
<li>Manage budgets, resources and facilities planning in alignment with strategic priorities.</li>
<li>Maintain a negotiated teaching load (minimum 0.2 FTE) to model exemplary practice and remain connected to classroom learning.</li>
<li>Providing regular reporting to the Principal, Executive Leadership Team and College Council.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Leadership Scope</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Executive leadership of the Secondary College (Years 7-12) and Boarding program</li>
<li>Collaborative supervision of Sport Coordinator and Coordinator of Music Performance.</li>
<li>Strategic influence across whole of College initiatives and K–12 alignment.</li>
</ul>
<p>Direct line management of:</p>
<ul>
<li>Director of Curriculum (Secondary College)</li>
<li>Director of Pastoral Care & Wellbeing (Secondary College)</li>
<li>Boarding Coordinator</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications & Experience</strong></p>
<p>Applicants should demonstrate:</p>
<ul>
<li>Tertiary teaching qualifications and full (or eligible) QCT registration.</li>
<li>Senior leadership experience in a Secondary or K–12 setting, including line management of leaders and oversight of complex operations.</li>
<li>Proven expertise in curriculum leadership (Years 7–12), assessment, reporting, data‑informed improvement and QCE/ATAR pathways.</li>
<li>Experience leading wellbeing, behaviour frameworks and restorative practices.</li>
<li>Experience in boarding leadership or operations (highly regarded).</li>
<li>Strong capability in risk, compliance, WHS and policy governance.</li>
<li>Postgraduate qualifications in Educational Leadership (desirable).</li>
<li>Accreditation or willingness to undertake accreditation in Lutheran education (desirable).</li>
<li>Current First Aid/CPR, Child Protection/Safeguarding training (or willingness to obtain).</li>
<li>Valid Blue Card and current driver’s licence.</li>
