<p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p> <p>We are seeking a compassionate, collaborative and dedicated Teacher Assistant, who is strongly committed to the ethos and practices of Catholic Education and possess a genuine desire to support the holistic development of young people to join our Inclusive Learning team. We have a permanent part-time position available working 3 days per week (17.49 hours per week), with the potential to increase to 5 days a week (up to 29.15 hours per week), commencing in Term 4, 2026.&nbsp;</p> <p>As a Teacher Assistant in this dedicated role, you will work as part of our Inclusive Learning team, spending part of your day providing continuous 1:1 support for a student with extensive needs. Your primary focus will be maintaining constant supervision to ensure the student's safety, health, and personal well-being.&nbsp;Key responsibilities include delivering respectful and dignified personal care—including toileting and hygiene support—as well as daily medical care, such as diabetes management.&nbsp;Working collaboratively alongside fellow TAs and health support staff, you will foster a secure, reliable, and supportive environment where the student's physical and health needs are fully met with empathy and professionalism.</p> <p>Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>As a Teacher Assistant you will:</p> <ul> <li>Relate empathetically to students with diverse and complex needs, delivering dignified continuous 1:1 support, personal hygiene care (including toileting), and meal assistance.</li> <li>Confidently undertake daily health and medical management routines, specifically diabetes monitoring and care (training provided).</li> <li>Possess the physical capability and confidence to manage personal care and mobility assistance safely.</li> <li>Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated TA team to ensure seamless handovers, consistency of care, and ongoing student support.</li> <li>Support teachers in delivering student-focused learning outcomes.</li> <li>Demonstrate strong literacy and numeracy skills to assist with learning.</li> <li>Uphold high standards of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and resilience.</li> <li>Build and maintain positive professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.</li> <li>Perform effectively in dynamic environments with competing demands.</li> </ul> <p>CET supports the rights of children and young people and is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment directed at ensuring their safety and wellbeing.&nbsp; The successful candidate will require satisfactory registrations relevant to child safety.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>About Us</strong></p> <p>St Patrick’s is a Catholic co-educational Year 7-12 college of approximately 1,500 students with a strong academic culture that encourages individual students to develop to their full potential through a broad educational experience.&nbsp; The College is structured&nbsp;into a three-school model of learning,&nbsp;incorporating the Middle School (Years 7 and 8), Croagh Patrick (Year 9) and Senior School (Years 10-12).
