<p>Living Waters Lutheran College is seeking an exceptional and passionate Director of Sailing (Sailing Master) to lead the development and delivery of a nationally accredited, world-class sailing programme commencing in January 2027. This unique opportunity combines educational leadership, elite coaching and programme development within a thriving Kindergarten to Year 12 Christian school community. </p>
<p>As a key member of our educational team, you will inspire students to develop a lifelong passion for sailing while supporting high-performance pathways, competitive success and personal growth. Working collaboratively with College leadership, you will play a significant role in establishing Living Waters Lutheran College as a leading educational destination for sailing development and excellence. </p>
<p>About the Role</p>
<p>The Director of Sailing will provide strategic leadership, teaching and coaching across a range of sailing disciplines and performance pathways. The role encompasses programme development, on-water coaching, student performance planning, community engagement and the ongoing growth of the College's sailing programme. </p>
<p>Key responsibilities include:</p>
<p>Leading and developing the College's sailing programme and strategic direction.<br>
Delivering high-level on-water coaching and sailing development programmes.<br>
Coordinating training schedules, regattas, competitions and performance pathways.<br>
Developing individual and team performance plans for student sailors.<br>
Building partnerships with sailing clubs, governing bodies and community organisations.<br>
Delivering sailing theory and performance development sessions.<br>
Supporting student wellbeing, engagement and achievement.<br>
Promoting a culture of excellence, sportsmanship and lifelong participation in sailing.<br>
About You</p>
<p>To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:</p>
<p>Significant experience in competitive or elite-level sailing.<br>
A strong background in coaching sailing programmes, ideally with young people.<br>
Outstanding leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.<br>
The ability to inspire, mentor and develop students of varying abilities.<br>
Strong organisational, planning and programme management capabilities.<br>
A commitment to student wellbeing, safety and child safeguarding.<br>
Alignment with and support for the Christian ethos and values of the College. <br>
Essential Requirements<br>
Bachelor of Education or equivalent recognised qualification, or qualifications and experience deemed appropriate by the College.<br>
Current Working with Children Check.<br>
Current First Aid and CPR qualifications (or willingness to obtain).<br>
Current boat licence (or willingness to obtain).<br>
Demonstrated experience in sailing instruction and coaching. <br>
Highly Regarded<br>
Australian Sailing Instructor qualification.<br>
Australian Sailing Coach qualification.<br>
Team racing experience.<br>
Marine Studies, Outdoor Education or VET experience.<br>
A personal Christian faith.<br>
