We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our Kindergarten and Pre-Primary team in 2027. This full-time maternity leave position is offered for an initial period of 6-12 months, with the possibility of ongoing employment for the successful applicant.

This full-time maternity leave position is offered for an initial period of 6-12 months, with the possibility of ongoing employment for the successful applicant.</p> <p>This rewarding multi-age teaching role is ideal for an educator who embraces play-based learning, values collaboration, and responds thoughtfully to the diverse interests, strengths, and developmental needs of young children.</p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>Reporting to the Principal, the successful applicant will demonstrate:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent organisational, planning, and classroom management skills.</li> <li>An ACECQA-recognised Early Childhood Teaching qualification (or equivalent).</li> <li>Experience implementing the National Quality Standard (NQS), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and Western Australian Curriculum (or equivalent) to develop engaging and meaningful learning programs.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.</li> <li>A genuine commitment to the vision, mission, and Bible-based values of Heritage College Perth.</li> <li>Professionalism, initiative, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to continuous improvement.</li> <li>Understanding and experience with the PLD (Promoting Literacy Development) Synthetic Phonics approach and the Bond Blocks Prevention/Intervention Program, or a willingness to undertake the required training and professional development.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desirable Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience teaching in a multi-age, play-based Early Childhood setting.</li> <li>Knowledge of, or experience implementing, the Diana Rigg PLD literacy approach.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Selection Criteria</strong></p> <p>The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate competency in the three domains of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers:</p> <ul> <li>Professional Knowledge</li> <li>Professional Practice</li> <li>Professional Engagement</li> </ul> <p><strong>Application Requirements</strong></p> <p>Your application should include:</p> <ul> <li>A statement of no more than three (3) pages addressing the three domains of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers in the context of this role.</li> <li>A curriculum vitae (CV) of no more than four (4) pages outlining employment history and relevant professional learning.</li> <li>Contact details for two (2) professional referees who can verify the claims made in your application, preferably including your current line manager.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Employment Requirements</strong></p> <p>The successful applicant will be required to:</p> <ul> <li>Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.</li> <li>Hold or obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement.</li> <li>Hold or obtain a current Working With Children Check.</li> <li>Be currently registered with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Our Expectations</strong></p> <p>All our staff model the characteristics Heritage College is seeking to develop in our students: a God-focused perspective, honesty, integrity, care for others, reliability and professionalism.
