We’re looking for a great Library Services Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality library and information services in the Senior School; and work in a full-time capacity each school term, plus as an additional week in school holiday periods.

As a key member within our Library and Information Services team, you’ll provide critical administrative, operational and customer service support and ensure the smooth running of the library, as an important resource for Ascham staff and students. If you have a passion for reading, and are keen to contribute to a welcoming, vibrant and engaging learning environment we’d love to hear from you!</p> <p><strong>What You Will Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support daily library operations, ensuring efficient, professional, and user-focused service delivery.</li> <li>Process, catalogue and maintain resources with collections shelving, stocktaking, repairing, and weeding.</li> <li>Perform circulation duties such as loans, returns, reservations, overdue notices and student supervision</li> <li>Assist students and staff to access library resources; online databases; digital technologies and research tools; and respond to routine reference enquiries.</li> <li>Maintain library management systems, records, procedures and administrative processes.</li> <li>Contribute to library displays and promotions, while also coordinating library events and activities.</li> <li>Work collaboratively with library staff across the Ascham campus.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Will Bring</strong></p> <ul> <li>A Certificate III or IV in Library and Information Services (or equivalent experience).</li> <li>Experience working in a school, public, academic or special library environment.</li> <li>Knowledge of library operations, procedures and management systems including circulation and cataloguing.</li> <li>Experience creating library displays, promotional materials, user guides or resource lists.</li> <li>Strong administrative, organisational and time-management skills, with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.</li> <li>Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and confidence using digital information resources and technologies.</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills</li> <li>Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and work within a busy team environment.</li> <li>Willingness to work rostered early mornings and evenings as required.</li> <li>Current First Aid and CPR certification, as well as a valid Working With Children (WWC) clearance.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Interested?</strong></p> <p>This role is based at our Edgecliff campus and requires attendance for 42 weeks per year.
