<p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p> <p>Join our Human Resources &amp; WHS team in a fixed-term capacity role as a WHS Officer, responsible for coordinating the day-to-day work health, safety, and risk management support across St Patrick's College. This dynamic role is ideal for an organised, practical, and proactive individual who holds relevant safety qualifications or experience and thrives in a supportive, team-oriented environment.</p> <p>Working alongside the HR &amp; WHS Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our campus remains safe, compliant, and well-supported. Key responsibilities include coordinating incident and hazard reporting, assisting with operational risk assessments, maintaining safety registers, organising compliance training and emergency drills, and supporting workers' compensation administration. The role also involves delivering practical daily safety guidance to staff, assisting the WHS Committee, and contributing to College-wide wellbeing initiatives.</p> <p>Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, classified at Business Services Level 4 in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.</p> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>As a WHS Officer you will have:</p> <ul> <li>Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining compliance and safety records.</li> <li>Relevant experience or qualifications in WHS, risk management, or a related field.</li> <li>The ability to work collaboratively within a team while exercising sound judgment and initiative to manage daily priorities under general direction.</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build positive working relationships across the College community.</li> <li>Practical understanding of hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident reporting processes.</li> <li>Reliability, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential compliance and injury management information with care.</li> <li>Motivation, adaptability, and a genuine enthusiasm for fostering a positive safety culture.</li> <li>An ability to manage competing operational demands, set daily priorities, and deliver tasks efficiently to meet legislative and school deadlines.</li> </ul> <p>CET supports the rights of children and young people and is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment directed at ensuring their safety and wellbeing.&nbsp; The successful candidate will require satisfactory registrations relevant to child safety.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>About Us</strong></p> <p>St Patrick’s is a Catholic co-educational Year 7-12 college of approximately 1,500 students with a strong academic culture that encourages individual students to develop to their full potential through a broad educational experience.&nbsp; The College is structured&nbsp;into a three school model of learning,&nbsp;incorporating the Middle School (Years 7 and 8), Croagh Patrick (Year 9) and Senior School (Years 10-12).
