<p>We are seeking an exceptional and dedicated educator to join our HSIE Faculty as a HSIE Teacher, commencing Term 1, 2027.</p> <p>This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated teacher to inspire curiosity, critical thinking and real-world learning through the study of <strong>Geography, Business Studies and Commerce</strong>. The successful applicant will be committed to delivering engaging and innovative learning experiences that challenge students to think critically about economic, environmental and social issues in a rapidly changing world.</p> <p>The successful applicant will join a collaborative and high-performing faculty and contribute to a culture of academic excellence, student engagement and continuous improvement.</p> <p><strong>This is a Permanent Full-Time teaching position commencing 27 January 2027.</strong></p> <p>The HSIE Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning programs across Geography, Business Studies and Commerce, including Stage 6 courses.</p> <p>Working collaboratively with colleagues within the HSIE Faculty and across the College, the successful applicant will contribute to curriculum development, assessment practices, student achievement initiatives and the broader co-curricular life of the College.</p> <p>The successful applicant will be an excellent classroom practitioner with strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to evidence-informed practice and the ability to inspire students to achieve their personal best.</p> <p><strong>Desired Skills and Experience</strong></p> <p>The successful applicant will demonstrate:</p> <ul> <li>A working understanding of, and commitment to, the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.</li> <li>Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.</li> <li>NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.</li> <li>Qualifications and experience teaching Geography, Business Studies and Commerce.</li> <li>Experience teaching Stage 6 Geography and/or Business Studies.</li> <li>Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.</li> <li>Strong curriculum knowledge and understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practices.</li> <li>The ability to engage, challenge and support students of varying abilities.</li> <li>A commitment to evidence-informed practice and continuous improvement.</li> <li>Exceptional communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>The ability to build productive relationships with students, staff and families.</li> <li>A willingness to contribute to the co-curricular life of the College.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Highly Desirable</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience teaching HSC Geography, Business Studies and Commerce.</li> <li>Experience using student achievement data to inform teaching and learning programs.</li> <li>Experience contributing to curriculum development and faculty improvement initiatives.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p> <p>At St Patrick's College, you will join a thriving Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, educating more than 1,630 boys across Years 5–12.</p> <p>Our HSIE Faculty is a collaborative and high-performing team dedicated to developing students' understanding of the world around them.
