<p>We are seeking an outstanding and enthusiastic educator to join our College as an <strong>English Teacher in a temporary part-time capacity</strong>. The successful applicant will have a passion for literature, language and learning, and a commitment to achieving exceptional outcomes for students.</p> <p>This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated teacher to inspire a love of reading, writing and critical thinking in students across Years 7–12. The successful applicant will be committed to delivering engaging and innovative learning experiences that challenge and support students to achieve their personal best.</p> <p>The successful applicant will join a collaborative and high-performing department and contribute to a culture of academic excellence, student engagement and continuous improvement.</p> <p><strong>This is a Temporary Part-Time (0.4 FTE) teaching position commencing 27 January 2027, to be worked on Mondays and Tuesdays each week.</strong></p> <p>The English Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning programs within the English department, supporting students to develop strong literacy, communication and analytical skills.</p> <p>Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Faculty and College, the successful applicant will contribute to curriculum development, assessment practices, student achievement initiatives and the broader co-curricular life of the College.</p> <p>The successful applicant will be an excellent classroom practitioner with strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to evidence-informed practice and the ability to inspire students to become confident and capable learners.</p> <p><strong>Desired Skills and Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>A working understanding of, and commitment to, the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.</li> <li>Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.</li> <li>NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.</li> <li>Qualifications and experience teaching English.</li> <li>Experience teaching Stage 6 English or the capacity to teach senior courses.</li> <li>Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.</li> <li>Strong curriculum knowledge and understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practices.</li> <li>The ability to engage, challenge and support students of varying abilities.</li> <li>A commitment to evidence-informed practice and continuous improvement.</li> <li>Exceptional communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>The ability to build productive relationships with students, staff and families.</li> <li>A willingness to contribute to the co-curricular life of the College.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Highly Desirable</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience teaching HSC English courses.</li> <li>Experience using student achievement data to inform teaching and learning programs.</li> <li>Experience contributing to curriculum development and faculty improvement initiatives.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p> <p>At St Patrick's College, you will join a thriving Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, educating more than 1,630 boys across Years 5–12.</p> <p>Our English Faculty is a collaborative and high-performing team dedicated to fostering a love of literature, language and critical thinking.
