Central Coast Steiner School is seeking an outstanding educational leader to join our vibrant, creative Steiner school environment as Deputy Principal in a full time capacity commencing in Term 1, 2027 (with the possibility of a Term 4, 2026 commencement). <p>This position provides an opportunity for an inspiring educator who is passionate about academic excellence, student wellbeing and values-based education to play a key leadership role within our flourishing school community. Working closely with the Principal, the successful applicant will help advance the School's vision and strategic priorities while fostering a vibrant and inclusive learning environment.</p>
<p>The role includes a <strong>0.3 teaching load</strong>, providing an opportunity to remain connected to the classroom, ideally within the secondary years and aligned with the successful applicant's qualifications and experience.</p>

<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>The Deputy Principal will play a key role within the whole-school leadership, fostering a positive school culture, advancing student wellbeing and academic excellence, mentoring staff, and contributing to the strategic vision of the School. Working closely with the Principal, the Deputy Principal will be a visible and relational presence across the School, helping to translate the School's vision and priorities into effective daily practice.</p>
<p>Areas of responsibility include strategic leadership, staff development, student wellbeing, curriculum oversight, compliance and accreditation.</p>
<p><strong>Key Selection Criteria</strong></p>
<p>The successful applicant will demonstrate:</p>
<ul>
<li>A deep understanding of, and commitment to, the philosophy and practices of Steiner education, preferably with formal Steiner qualifications</li>
<li>Proven experience in educational leadership</li>
<li>Experience working within an International Baccalaureate school, preferably with the Diploma Programme</li>
<li>The capacity to lead with integrity, courage, empathy and sound professional judgement</li>
<li>A genuine commitment to building and sustaining a thriving and inclusive school community</li>
<li>An ability to translate and implement the School’s strategic goals into meaningful action</li>
<li>The ability to uphold and articulate high expectations, values and educational ideals that foster a positive and healthy school culture</li>
<li>Strong collaborative leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and support colleagues in their professional growth and build leadership capacity in others</li>
<li>Demonstrated capacity to lead and support high-quality teaching, learning and curriculum development</li>
<li>Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills</li>
<li>A calm, thoughtful and solutions-focused approach to challenges</li>
<li>A commitment to restorative practices and positive relationships with students</li>
<li>Contemporary knowledge of student wellbeing needs and a strong commitment to child safety, safeguarding and inclusive practice</li>
<li>A strong understanding of current educational practice and regulatory requirements, together with a demonstrated capacity to innovate and lead improvement initiatives.</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li>
<li> Highly developed administrative and organisational abilities, accountability and attention to detail</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Essential Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Registered to teach in NSW through NESA (or equivalent recognised authority)</li>
<li>Relevant teaching and leadership experience</li>
<li>Permanent work rights in Australia with no restrictions</li>
<li>Steiner qualifications or commitment to further study in Steiner education</li>
<li>A current NSW Working with Children Check</li>
