We are currently seeking a permanent full-time Risk and Compliance Manager to ensure robust governance, effective risk management, legislative compliance and a culture of continuous improvement across the School. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Company Secretary and working all year round, this is a pivotal role that helps to protect Ascham’s people, reputation, assets and operations.

If you have experience in a similar role; and would love to help us foster a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement we’d love to hear from you.</p> <p><strong>What You Will Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage strategic, operational, financial, reputational, child safety, cybersecurity and business continuity risks</li> <li>Promote a strong culture of risk awareness, compliance and accountability throughout the School</li> <li>Oversee the identification, assessment and management of Work Health and Safety (WHS) including psychosocial risks</li> <li>Provide risk and compliance reporting to School Management, the Senior Leadership Team and School Council</li> <li>Develop and maintain the School's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework</li> <li>Support risk assessments for events, excursions, tours and other school activities</li> <li>Oversee the School's compliance framework and reporting systems via the CompliSpace Assurance Program</li> <li>Manage audits, registration e.g. with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), and reporting obligations.</li> <li>Develop, review and implement policies, procedures and standard operating procedures.</li> <li>Support the implementation of Child Safe Standards</li> <li>Coordinate risk and compliance training programs</li> <li>Support crisis management and emergency response planning</li> <li>Coordinate business continuity and organisational resilience initiatives</li> <li>Oversee campus inspections and compliance reviews</li> <li>Manage hazards, incidents, investigations and corrective actions.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Will Bring</strong></p> <ul> <li>Risk and Compliance Certification</li> <li>Strong expertise in enterprise risk management and compliance</li> <li>Sound knowledge of governance, WHS, child safeguarding and regulatory frameworks</li> <li>Ability to interpret legislation and translate requirements into practical policies and procedures.</li> <li>Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and written / verbal communication skills</li> <li>Experience conducting audits, investigations and compliance reviews</li> <li>Strong analytical, reporting and project management capabilities</li> <li>High levels of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail</li> <li>Ability to use technology across various compliance and Microsoft Office platforms</li> <li>A commitment to child safety and organisational excellence</li> <li>A current First Aid / CPR Certificate and valid Working with Children Clearance (WWCC).</li> </ul> <p><i>Experience within an education, healthcare or highly regulated community sector; and a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as law or business would be well regarded.</i></p> <p><strong>Interested?</strong></p> <p>For further information, including a position description please go to <a href="https://www.ascham.nsw.edu.au/connecting/careers-at-ascham" rel="nofollow">https://www.ascham.nsw.edu.au/connecting/careers-at-ascham</a>&nbsp;</p> <p>Then, if this sounds like you, please <strong>apply via SEEK by 11.59pm on Wednesday 2 September 2026</strong>.</p> <p>Applications should include a resume and a 2-page cover letter addressing the requirements of the role (listing WWCC, CPR and First Aid details if available).</p> <p>We are conducting interviews for this role on a rolling basis and encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible to ensure consideration.
