<p><br><strong>The opportunity</strong><br>
The Assistant Head of Design and Technology is an experienced teacher and is responsible<br>
for supporting the Head of Design and Technology with a range of duties to assist in the<br>
smooth running of the department.</p>

They will support their Head of Department in the implementation of College approaches to<br>
pedagogy, assessment and reporting, with a focus on providing a holistic education and quality<br>
learning outcomes for our students.</p>

<p><br><strong>About you</strong><br>
The successful candidate will be an energetic secondary educator who will have:<br>
• Demonstrated ability to teach Years 7-12 design and technology.<br>
• Demonstrate strong leadership and team leading experience to provide instructional<br>
leadership within the subject area/s, particularly:<br>
o Leading the quality of curriculum development and evaluation, and course<br>
review and writing.<br>
o Leading the quality of assessment, testing and reporting.<br>
o Promoting and achieving high standards of student achievement.<br>
o Developing appropriate teaching methodologies and high standards of teaching<br>
effectiveness for Department members.<br>
• Demonstrate a passion for teaching, pursuing innovative thinking and interdisciplinary<br>
learning.<br>
• Be energetic, enthusiastic and demonstrate a willingness to grow through the sharing of<br>
best practice and professional experience.<br>
• Possess excellent communications skills both written and verbal, as well as excellent<br>
time management skills.<br>
• Promote and participate in pastoral and co-curricular programs, including but not limited<br>
to school camps and excursions.<br>
• Commit to the safeguarding and promotion of student welfare.<br>

<p><br><strong>Required qualifications</strong><br>
• Teaching qualification recognised by the Teacher Quality Institute.<br>
• Maintain registration as a teacher with the Teacher Quality Institute, including a valid<br>
Working With Vulnerable People check.<br>
• Current First Aid Certificate.</p>
