We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced primary school teacher to teach Year 6 and lead a team of Year 6 teachers. This position will commence in Term 1 2027.

<p><strong>About the position</strong></p> <p>Applications are invited from&nbsp;qualified and experienced primary school teachers who are keen to teach one of five Year 6 classes and lead a team of four Year 6 teachers. Located in the Hills District in Sydney’s northwest, the College has modern facilities, is very well resourced and can be easily accessed by car or the Metro Northwest rail.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Teaching and Learning</strong></p> <p>Construct teaching programs, based on applicable NESA syllabuses, that will enable you to:</p> <ul> <li>Orchestrate a lesson that maximises learning for all students in the class.</li> <li>Provide meaningful feedback on the academic work students produce in a way that will help them to improve.</li> <li>Achieve strong academic results.</li> <li>Effectively teach students with identified needs.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Leadership Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Be proactive and well organised to help ensure that all matters related to Year 6 are well administered and executed.</li> <li>Coordinate Year 6 teaching programs, ensuring that they are of a high standard and implemented effectively throughout the year.</li> <li>Coordinate some Year 6 extra-curricular activities such as an annual camp.</li> <li>Advise and support the team of Year 6 teachers in their work, including ensuring that team members are well informed about the work expected of them.</li> <li>Work with the Head of Learning to improve the learning outcomes of Year 6 students.</li> <li>Contribute to the student wellbeing and behaviour needs of Year 6 students by: <ul> <li>Working with the Head of Wellbeing to maintain high standards of student behaviour.</li> <li>Providing specific guidance to Year 6 teachers as needed to address Year 6 student wellbeing needs and behavioural issues.</li> </ul></li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Other Responsibilities</strong></p> <p>Involvement in College activities and events including:</p> <ul> <li>Contributing to the student wellbeing program and extra-curricular activities.</li> <li>Attending chapel, assemblies and other College activities.</li> <li>Undertaking rostered playground or supervision duties.</li> <li>Attending College events, including parent teacher meetings.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>The Contract</strong></p> <p>All teachers at RHAC are employed under the Independent Schools Standards Model Multi Enterprise Agreement (MEA). The MEA outlines teacher’s salaries and their employment rights and responsibilities.&nbsp;In addition to a teaching salary, this position attracts a level 1 leadership allowance and a 0.1 non-teaching allocation.
