Applicants will also need to be skilled in their use of educational technology in the classroom and workshop environments.</p> <p>The Head of Department: VET is responsible for the efficient organisation, management, and regulatory compliance of the Vocational Education and Training KLA. Through the exercise of their supervisory function, they will endeavour to maintain the efficient teaching of classes in the VET Department, ensuring strict adherence to NESA curriculum guidelines, RTO standards, and other regulatory requirements.</p> <p>The management of the VET Department includes the ability to:</p> <ul> <li>Work with staff and provide support in the setting of individual and group goals.</li> <li>Support good practice and address areas of performance and development within the faculty.</li> <li>Ensure sound overall knowledge within programs, NESA Stage 5/6 VET frameworks, and RTO compliance operations.</li> <li>Use the expertise of faculty members to facilitate the effective and efficient operation of the College.</li> <li>Support the development of processes that review and evaluate programs, delivery procedures, work placement frameworks, and industry partnerships.</li> <li>Ensure RTO compliance, evidence collection, student competencies logging, and audit readiness for delivered frameworks (e.g., Construction, Hospitality, Business Services).</li> <li>Coordinate mandatory Work Placement programs and other external enrolments.</li> </ul> <p><i>(For further information about the role, please refer to the attached position description)</i></p> <p><strong><u>About You</u></strong></p> <p>To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:</p> <ul> <li>Proven experience in teaching NESA VET Framework syllabuses in secondary schools, with relevant industry and VET teaching qualifications or equivalent.</li> <li>Demonstrated expertise in RTO management, NESA registration guidelines, audit compliance, and student competency tracking systems.</li> <li>Proven track record in coordinating student VET Work Placements and liaising with service providers.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in faculty leadership and staff mentoring.</li> <li>Strong administrative, organisational, and departmental budget management skills.</li> <li>The ability to relate to boys, with practical knowledge and application of boys' pedagogy in both theoretical and practical learning environments.</li> <li>Proven ability to incorporate modern educational technology and industry-standard tools into teaching and training practice.</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships with staff, students, parents, industry partners and RTO authorities.</li> <li>A commitment to Child Safeguarding principles and rigorous Work Health and Safety (WHS) practices relevant to practical VET learning facilities.</li> <li>Possess a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).</li> <li>The ability and willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the College.</li> <li>Post-graduate qualification/s in Educational Leadership or Vocational Education &amp; Training (desirable).</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>The Process</u></strong></p> <p>Applications (including CV and covering letter) to be submitted through <a href="http://www.edmundricecollege.nsw.edu.au" rel="nofollow">www.edmundricecollege.nsw.edu.au</a> by <strong>30 August 2026</strong>.</p> <p>The appointment of a successful candidate is conditional and based on the successful completion of all pre-employment screening, including child-related employment and reference checks.</p> <p>For further information about the role, please refer to the attached position description.</p>
