A position is available for a teacher to fill a Maternity Leave position in a Grade 3/4 classroom in Terms 3 and 4, 2026, at St John's Primary School, Frankston East.

<p>St John's Primary School is looking for a teacher to take responsibility for a Grade 3/4 class from mid-Term 3 until the end of Term 4. The position is a full-time contract.</p> <p><strong>The applicant will assume all classroom duties expected of a teacher, including, but not limited to, the following roles and duties:</strong></p> <p>Have an understanding of, commitment to, and support for the values and ethos of the Catholic school and the mission of the Catholic Church.</p> <p>Have an understanding of the science of learning approaches, contemporary learning spaces and the pedagogies that support them, or a willingness to learn more about these processes.</p> <p>Foster and develop appropriate professional relationships with parents, carers and the wider school community.</p> <p>Regularly engage in collaborative processes to share knowledge of key learning areas, subjects and pedagogical approaches with colleagues.</p> <p>Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, supportive, cooperative and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices.</p> <p>Knowledge and commitment to and support of the Ministerial Order 1359 - Child Safe Standards.</p> <p><strong>Key Selection Criteria</strong></p> <p>The successful applicant will need to outline the following during the application process:&nbsp;</p> <p>Your passion for learning and teaching.</p> <p>Your commitment to the Catholic Ethos of the school and to the spiritual, emotional, social and educational wellbeing of all students.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <p>Your interpersonal and communication skills and capacity to build strong relationships with students, staff and parents.</p> <p>Reflection on how you might meet the requirements of the school's Vision and Mission.</p> <p><strong>Additional Requirements:</strong></p> <p>Appropriate teaching qualifications;</p> <p>VIT registration;</p> <p>Appropriate first aid qualifications (HLTAID003 or equivalent) are desirable; and</p> <p>RE Accreditation - preferred but not essential</p> <p>Knowledge of the Multilit Program is advantageous, or experience with other phonics-based approaches to reading, writing and spelling.</p> <p><strong>Application process:</strong></p> <p>Please address your application to Mrs Maree Summers, Acting Principal.
