<p>Charlton Christian College is a K–12 co-educational Christian school located in Fassifern, Lake Macquarie. Our mission is to provide a Christ-centred education of excellence that empowers students to develop their God-given potential. </p>
<p>As part of our continued growth and a recent internal promotion, we are seeking an experienced and passionate educational leader to join our team as <strong>Head of Primary</strong> commencing January 2027. Reporting to the Assistant Principal, the Head of Primary provides strategic and operational leadership of the Primary School (K-6), ensuring excellence in teaching, learning, wellbeing and Christian formation.</p>
<p>This key leadership role is responsible for fostering a Christ-centred culture, leading staff development, overseeing student wellbeing and behaviour, supporting the implementation of teaching and learning initiatives, and contributing to the strategic direction of the College. </p>
<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>The Head of Primary will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Lead the Primary School in alignment with the College's mission, values and strategic direction.</li>
<li>Foster a culture of spiritual growth, academic excellence and student wellbeing.</li>
<li>Lead and develop staff, promoting high-quality teaching and pastoral practice.</li>
<li>Support the implementation of College-wide teaching and learning frameworks.</li>
<li>Build strong relationships with students, families and staff.</li>
<li>Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with the Assistant Principal and the Lead Education Team.</li>
</ul>
<p>As a growing College, opportunities exist to lead meaningful change and contribute significantly to the future direction of Christian education at Charlton Christian College.</p>
<p><strong>Selection Criteria</strong></p>
<p>Applicants will demonstrate:</p>
<ul>
<li>A personal Christian faith, regular church attendance and willingness to support the College's Statement of Faith.</li>
<li>Understanding of, and commitment to child safety principles.</li>
<li>Current NSW Teacher Accreditation and Working with Children Check.</li>
<li>Relevant tertiary qualification in Education, ideally at postgraduate level, with substantial experience in teaching and leadership.</li>
<li>Understanding of curriculum and assessment expectations, with ability to support school-level implementation in collaboration with the Head of Studies and Head of Teaching, Learning and Primary Curriculum.</li>
<li>Demonstrated capacity to lead and mentor staff in professional growth and continual improvement in teaching and pastoral practice.</li>
<li>Proven ability to build collaborative relationships, influence culture and contribute to strategic planning within a Christian educational context.</li>
<li>Commitment to ongoing professional learning, reflection and innovation in educational leadership.</li>

<p><strong>Salary & Conditions</strong></p>
<p>The annual salary Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Christian Schools Teaching Staff Multi-Enterprise Agreement. The annual salary of $164,265 includes a Position of Responsibility Allowance of POR 3. The role is full time and may include a teaching load of up to 0.2 FTE.</p>
