Why don’t you come and join us?&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Teacher Role Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Recognised teacher education qualifications and NESA accreditation to teach in NSW schools</li> <li>Ability and qualifications to teach&nbsp;the NESA Science curriculum, to Stages 4, 5 and 6.</li> </ul> <p>At Chevalier College, teachers strategically work in teams to collaboratively plan, prepare, teach, assess and evaluate student learning. As such, the Teacher of Science will be required to:&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>support and assist the mission of Catholic education in the way of Jules Chevalier and the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC)</li> <li>see themselves as learners and be committed to ongoing professional learning</li> <li>work collaboratively with other teachers to design learning experiences where students exercise choice to demonstrate knowledge and understanding</li> <li>nurture the growth of executive functioning skills of planning, organisation and goal setting</li> <li>teach and assess capabilities such as learner agency, critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration for each student</li> <li>use summative data and formative data, including observations, annotations and work samples, to inform ‘next steps’ for key learning outcomes</li> <li>demonstrate deep understanding of curriculum which informs subject disciplinary knowledge</li> <li>use digital technology as an enabler and accelerator for student and teacher learning</li> <li>regularly provide students with feedback as part of the teaching and learning cycle</li> <li>be open to growth and development through professional learning experiences which include classroom observations, practice analysis conversations and input from Leaders of Learning, and,</li> <li>know and apply New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA) guidelines.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Other Information</strong></p> <ul> <li>This role is a permanent, full-time 1 FTE position.</li> <li>An extracurricular commitment of 12-14 Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and 10-12 Saturdays in a summer or winter season.</li> <li>Salary and conditions will be as per the NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Teachers – Model B) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2023.&nbsp;</li> <li>This is a child-related position. Preferred candidates are required to possess a valid a Working With Children Check and will be subject to identification verification.</li> </ul>
