<p>We are seeking a Religious Education Teacher who will play a vital role in guiding young men to think deeply, act justly, and live with faith and integrity. This is a parental leave contract position, where you will bring your strong subject knowledge and engaging teaching practices to create learning experiences that are both intellectually rigorous and spiritually enriching. With a collaborative approach and a passion for student growth, you will foster a classroom environment where curiosity, respect and reflection thrive, supporting the holistic development of students in the Edmund Rice tradition.</p> <p><strong>Temporary full-time (1.0 FTE) Parental Leave Contract position commencing Monday 12 October 2026 and concluding Friday 24 September 2027.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>The Religious Education program at St Patrick’s College works in partnership with all other faculties of the College. In particular, it works closely with the Spiritual Development program to ensure a holistic, human, and authentically Catholic formation of students, staff, and parents. As an experienced educator, you will delight in providing students with meaningful opportunities to engage with life’s deepest questions, enhancing their understanding of the nature and significance of religion.</p> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>The successful applicant will demonstrate:</p> <ul> <li>A working understanding of, and commitment to the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.</li> <li>Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries&nbsp;that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.</li> <li>Qualified to teach Religious Education (Stage 4 and Stage 5) and Studies of Religion (Stage 6) with&nbsp;NESA Accreditation&nbsp;and approval to teach in NSW.</li> <li>Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.</li> <li>Demonstrates effective classroom management through clear expectations, proactive behaviour strategies, and fostering a positive learning environment.</li> <li>Demonstrated success in differentiation of curriculum.</li> <li>Effectively incorporates ICT into teaching, learning, and assessment to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Highly Desirable:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Postgraduate qualifications in Theology, Religious Education or a related discipline.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience teaching Religious Education in a Catholic secondary school, with a strong understanding of Catholic theology and contemporary Religious Education pedagogy.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p> <p>At St Patrick's College, you will join a thriving Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, educating more than 1,630 boys across Years 5–12.</p> <p>Our Religious Education Faculty is a collaborative and faith-filled team committed to nurturing students' spiritual growth, fostering a deep understanding of the Catholic faith, and inspiring young men to live the Gospel values in their daily lives.
